Coffeeshop With The Best Hash

Post by Local Dank »

Which coffeeshop sells the best hash? and is the 20 euro a gram hash worth the price?

Well before others chime in about variance.

New School hash: Boerejongens, 2e Kamer, 1e Hulp

Traditional Moroccan: Flashback, Millennium, De Bommel, Massawa

Old-school Asian/Black hash: Bluebird and Katsu

To be honest I'd say 2e Kamer could be listed on all three categories and thus will give you the best overall coverage of your resin needs!

Sorry Nugs, but your advice is only good on some of the points, others are (sadly) a bit yesterday's tips.

For new school Boer's "main branch outlets" (Boer Center and West plus Bij) are for sure #1 and the top of the line hashes at 1e Hulp are very good, but also very pricey. 2e seems to get what's left when the main branch locations have gotten theirs, so wouldn't bother with the blocks from there (go for Center, West or Bij). The Stud's new line and some of the blocks they've had for a while (e.g. ak47 block) or even the new school hashes at Utopia (same on the new menu) should squeeze in before 2e on that list (especially since 2e is a watered down version of Boer wrt new school hashes). One shop you shouldn't miss for new school hashes is Bagheera, both quality (matching the best from Boer and 1e) and value for money when you hit the really good deals there, can rival the very best in the city.

For classic (Moroccan) hashes Massawa is #1 by a fair margin on the strength of their Massawa Royal alone, but unless flashback and de bommel can pull something unexpected out of their behinds they do not belong on that list (afaik they both have limited "out of the dealer's left or right pocket" selections). Millinium could qualify because of their very nice value for money when buying more than a gram and general high quality (nothing really stellar, but clean and proper high grade Moroccan classics). The Spirit would be our number two on the list and also our top candidate for most overlooked hash shop in the city, they always (meaning every single time we've visited and that's been a lot on recent trips) have had a minimum of three, if not four or five, classic hashes at prices 2+€ /g lower than comparable hashes from other shops. We could also be persuaded to include 2e Kamer for classic Moroccans, but it's not as sure a shot as it used to be. The Twizla / Tblisa is one of the most consistent and good value for money (top range) classics of the city, but have a hard time with the fact that they changed the Laila...

Asian hashes, well Bluebird is the go to and even though they aren't as good as they used to be, they are still very solid and got some fair valued products. The only stand out Asian hashes we bought the last few visits though we're from Utopia (the still overpriced Kashmir Dream) and Baba (the Manali Cream being absolutely wonderful and not bad wrt value for money). The only other high grade Asian hashes we had have been gifts (off CS scene private stash, Manali Cream from Barney's by Macky)...
Always know where your towel is! :wtf:

LOL everything is yesterday's tips IMHO the quality shifts so much (gonna pull the living here card a bit, because I do get lots of direct feedback and try to "look" at what's available though I rarely if ever actually purchase CS hash - I would just go to a much more reliable array of private sources for that) that if you stick at least between the places we mentioned then that narrows your scope, but gonna disagree and say it still could be inconsistent on every given week for most of those places save for a few elaborated on below.

I would say 1e & Boer are the most consistent for new-school/block type hashes, and will always have some good samples of those at any given point - as CC said 1e tends to be pricier though, Boer typically has better value. Edit: maybe Bagheera, but their entry into being purveyors of fine hash is much more recent, when I was full on hash head (or hash-rosin head) they hand't built up to their current rep; whereas 1e & Boer have been consistent almost across the entire four year span I've lived here - that's my the panther gets docked a few points in my book - I know past is irrelevant - present and future are what matter, but the fact that the other two have been able earlier establish and maintain their consistency of quality should count for something.

And the maybe only Massawa is super consistent for the traditional Maroc - though I would say Flashback, but as it's basically a hash shop it's not one I stop by too much anymore, and can't say for sure; but in my hash-head days they were always very consistent - Massawa the same, but I have other local hash-head friend that like the place so I get dragged along occasionally
Bluebird is as close to consistent for black hashes as possible but these days not even that truly.

Still gonna say 2e should have at least 2 or 3 worthwhile hashes on their many at any given point, whereas Spirit used to be a neighborhood-local fave of mine, and they would usually have one or 2 decent ones - but usually just a nice 9-11 EUR per g Maroc at that, or a horrendously overpriced black-asian hash (for which I never splurged as those were my skint as fuck Uni days innit?!)

I've tried a little of the Stud new-age hashes but wasn't as impressed as others (but could be in need of a further assessment - during my occasional hash tokes out of the bong) but others also have supported what Mr. CC says to that regard.

In short I would say only 2e Kamer, 1e Hulp, Massawa, Boerejongens and maybe Bluebird consistently are reliable enough to guaranteed have one or more standout hashes on their menu, or excellent value for money, etc. at any given point.

t's Amsterdam batches come and go, block hashes are rampant, traditional hashes are fading - it's a shape-shifting industry out there folks.

Anyway happy hash hunting in any matter!

Like CC wrote it changed a bit... well there are many places for good hash but I was always was a big fan of the hash products from
Dampkring, Dampkring#2 and Tweede Kamer. Only a few years ago they had really decent quality... especially their top and so
called Rifman hashes were most of the time something really nice. I mostly liked their hashes from morroco with for example indian,
pakistan genetics ... but that kind of hashes I didn´t saw for longer time now :? The last really good high quality hash I got from
Tweede/Dampkring#2 was the "Noor 2000" which was maybe one of the first "new school" hashes (super oily and sticky) but was def.
more on the classic import hash side compared to other new school hashes from now. After that it seemed that Tweede
Kamer/Dampkring#2 focus more on good cheap things while Boere got the high quality (and well they also have cheap good
products)... I mainly went there only for their King Hassan (6€/g) and Lemon Ice or Silverback Ice (8,50€/g) in the last time and well I like the Tweede Kamer Coffeeshop itself and I always got a chilled time there. Don´t get me wrong their higher priced hashes are
also good but I like most same priced hashes from other shops atm more (like from Boere, Baghera, Siberie)
But on their latest menu I saw some maybe pretty nice additions like the "G13xSSH Block" and "Kosher Choco Block" which could be pretty good and different...

Original Dampkring don´t focus on the cheap hashes but their hash quality is also not up there as in the past. Batches change pretty
often here, too but in the past u can be sure that usually their top hashes are really something nice but now it´s a hit and miss and
mostly miss :? their Sensabille they sell atm for example have nothing to do with the great batch some years before. The last really
good thing was their OG Roccan (13€/g) but that also had changed completly and is not worth the price anymore. A month before I
checked out their hashes and even for the budtender it was not so easy to find something that I was looking for (he know that I always
hunting for good hash :D ). He showed me the Niqa wich was a nice classic moroccan hash of fine quality but def. to expensive...
well they also have some higher priced afghan and nepal hash but I mainly go for the moroccan hashses...

In the last time I was pretty happy with the hash quality from Siberie... my favortie was their "Top Tidghine (9,50€/g)" which sadly gone but also their 24k hash (10,60€/g) is on my list every time... their Bildie (10€/g), Champagne (10€/g) and Casablanca are also of nice quality but the 24k and Bildie are my personal favorites :D and the quality is very constant here (in hash).

Baghera has also superb hash over the last 1-2 years. It seems they are connected with a good farm from morocco :) I talked with a
older guy who work there and he seems to have something to do with their supply :) and he only smoke hash and was pretty proud of
their offered hashes. All hashes on the menu are at least good and taste smell very clean.
Sometimes they have some great specials on the menu, too. Atm I like their SSH hash (7,50€/g) which is well priced and their 24k Gold hash was also really nice and different to most 24k hashes around. I also read somewhere on the forum that they have a new superb hash on the menu called Lemon candy or something like that :)

Boerejongens is also a great hash shop especially for their new school hashes. Personaly I buy more the cheaper ones here because for that price is hard to find any good or similar. I mean for under 10€/g you get some nice new school hash here and well Regine in Haarlem has many of Boeres products and also a deal like get 5 pay 4 :)

1e Hulp has nice hash as well but like said before sometimes to expensive. The Strawberry Banana and Gorilla Glue (15€/g) are nice hashes but maybe 2-3€ to much... well their hashes for 11€ like Kosher, Sour Diesel are pretty nice usually and better priced in my opinion.

Massawa, el Marsa, Flashback and Millenium are good places to get classic moroccan hash. Massawas Royal is usually constant
of nice quality... el Marsa and Flashback have also some decent hashes but batches change more here in my opinion. At Millenium I
was for the first time on my last trip because I read a good short review from CC about their Diamond... I like their discount for buying 2 or 5 grams ... the Diamond was temp. not in stock when I was there but their Hia (7,50€/g when buying 2g) was also of good quality
and I well def. check out their Diamond

So pretty the same shops as DLN and CC mentioned before :) but the new school hashes changed the game a bit for me. In the past Dampkring and Tweede where my favorite hash shops for top quality... anyway I still visit Tweede Kamer every visit because I like the shop so much and their cheaper hashes are still usually damn good and with their new additions to the menu they maybe get also some nice higher priced hashes.

Amazing post and responses!

I am planning my first visit to Amsterdam since 2001 and this is the information I have been looking for - maybe too much for my short time! I am used to bubble/ice hash and rosin and am looking forward to a change.

I only have 3 days before moving on and will be focusing on oldschool Moroccan and asian hashes....maybe a little new school hash if I can find a worthwhile sativa. I still remember the amazing nepalese I had during my last visit so will definitely have my eyes open.

Looks like Massawa's Royal is a definite pick....beyond that there seems to be a lot of debate for good moroccan. I suppose I'll have to go to as many as possible to try :D

Asian hashes...I will definitely check out Bluebird and a few of the others.

Thanks to everyone for the amazing info!

I agree mate. Acd collective to the rescue as always. Putting an emphasis on hash in my next visit so the above words are pretty much gold.

Massawa is worth the visit just for the Coffeeshops iteself, it's a really local coffeeshop in a residential area, it's usually full of Moroccans speaking Arabic and when I was there they had arabic pop music in the background, it's a funny place. I think it was CC that recommended it to me and I was really happy I went.

Sounds fantastic. I will be visiting Morocco a few weeks after Amsterdam so it will be a little teaser for me.
