Stuart, people who have a different view to you aren't necessarily thick or ill informed, and I dont see anyone assuming you are either. No one I know who voted remain wants another referendum, we're democrats and can respect an honest vote. Although how honest it was from the out campaign is still open to question, however we are where we are and will have to make it work for us all.
What a long strange trip it is.

sorry its a touchy point for me i know to many people like macky

so lets say your a new leader to a party ?
you dont want to upset the markets,currencies or other countries by saying f you to them all. what i would do is say what they want to hear, and behind closed doors have the document to leave made up. (have politicians lever lied???) funny how you didnt mention the fact europe to keep us in offered 7 years control of our immigration. and luxemburg wants to work in partnership with uk in managing europes trillions in pension investments

Got to share this, you have to laugh :D

Right. Fuck this. We're ALL up shit creek and we need a paddle. Now, not in three months.

Fellow Remain voters: Enough already. Yes, we're all pissed off but navel gazing ain't gonna help. Not all 17 million Leave voters can possibly be racist northern pensioners without an O level to their name. Maybe they have a point about this quitting the EU thing? Maybe not. Whatever, we are where we are and no amount a whinging is gonna change that. Allegedly we're the intelligent ones, so get your thinking caps on.

Leave voters. Well done. Good game. We hear you. Now you need to get stuck in to the aftermath and not just piss off back to Wetherspoons. (Just banter, twats!). And the first person to say they "want their country back" gets deported to fucking Gibraltar. OK?

Politicians.

David. Fuck off. Shut the door behind you. Now.

George. You may be a twat but you're our twat. Plus you know the passwords for our Junior Savers account. Get your calculator. Drop the face-like-a-slapped-ass routine. You're on.

Boris. Sorry mate. That photo of you abseiling by your scrotum over the London Olympics while waving a Union Jack can't ever be un-taken. Plus, you'll never be able to appear on Question Time again without some sturdy Glaswegian nurse asking where the fuck her 350 million quid is. Not only will she have a very good point, she'll be wearing a T shirt that shows you gurning in front of that fucking bus! No captains hat for you I'm afraid.

Theresa. You're in charge love. Get the biggest shoulder pads you've got. We need Ming The Merciless in drag and you'll scare the shit out of 'em.

Nicola. Yep. Fair cop. You probably could get us on a technicality, as could London. But we fucking love shortbread. And oil. And to be honest you're probably the best politician we've got, so we need you on side. Sort your lot out and we promise never to mention that Jimmy Krankie thing again (although it is pretty uncanny) and we'll make you a Dame once we're sorted. Bring Ruth Davidson. She kicks ass.

Opposition party. We'll need one. Someone take Jeremy and John back to the British Legion Club where you found them. Take Nigel as well. Give back their sandals, buy them a pint, then go to Heathrow and collect David Milliband. Fuck it. Lets gets Ed Balls as well. He keeps George on his toes. I think he works on the lottery kiosk at Morrisons now?

Oh. And Mark Carney. Give him a knighthood and tell him to keep that shit coming. We definitely need more of that good shit!

Everyone set? Right. Hold the Easyjet. We're going to Brussels and this ain't no hen party.

:D
What a long strange trip it is.

Well it didn't take long for liberal logic to come full circle. So you do or don't believe in trickle down economics? I'm confused. All is forgiven mate. We all get to high sometimes.
Ah, I had wondered recently how I made an enemy out of macky. Didn't recall interacting with you much fellow. Clearly here I destroyed you false persona as a debater. I see why you target me. You're feelings where hurt. I appologized knowing they would. Guess you're just cold hearted. And here I thought socalist liberals were supposed to have bleeding hearts.

Still no brexit?

So you spent valuable stoner time on going through Macky's posts, until you unearthed this from a couple of years ago.

I'll just leave that there, because any comment would ruin it.

Socialism and Liberalism are two totally different things;
Liberalism= individual rights beats everything. BTW, the whole US economic system is the actual dictionary definition of Liberal, you are all, economically, liberals, suck it up
Socialism= equality within and responsibility to the community beats everything. Something not only you, but the whole world has never actually lived through, or even encountered. We have had authoritarian planned economy goons trying frantically to gain legitimacy by claiming to be socialist, but they weren't. The closest we have had are mild Social Democracies which have all been hobbled and unable to truly implement equality.

I actually am beginning to see the political landscape as a series of triangulations, 3x3;

socialist/democratic. liberal, conservative/reactionary

across 3 spheres

politics, economy, socio-culture.

Thatcher was the worst of all worlds; politically and socio-culturally conservative, while being economically ultra-liberal.

This is just a model, and as such, only fits patterns not details, but I find it more useful that just using the 2D left to right on one plane model.

Tip -- if someone on a message board starts talking about 'you socialist liberals', they're not the sharpest tool in the box, nor are they engaging in rational argument.

I actually am beginning to see the political landscape as a series of triangulations, 3x3;
I like this - from a purely visual perspective the idea of a triangulation includes the notion of a necessarily structural centre ground, it's an image that bolsters the fact that it's extremely unhelpful (not to mention mind numbingly boring) to see modern society as a battle between the tired old opposing ideologies of * left Vs right. (* insert opposing ideogogies here). It would be toxic if it wasn't (imo) a property of human nature. Although it is of course the very definition of stupidity; the very epitomy of wasting finite energy. Ideologies are somewhat Darwinistic in that they drive extremes of behavior - useful for both keeping populations down - and encouraging them to grow.

Ideologues bore me endlessly.There's nothing more difficult to take seriously than an individual simply repeating someone else's views. To me listening to these people often feels a bit like asking someone how they enjoyed Moby Dick then listening to them lie about the fact they've read it. It's disconcerting knowing that a person is willing to feel strongly about something they A) don't fully understand and b) are willfully ignorant in understanding further by simply repeating verbatim something they read/heard somewhere else rather than forming an objective viewpoint that rises from the echo-chamber by holding their opponents viewpoint with respect rather than derision.

I understand that it's easy to listen to intellectuals and re-hash their views; it's an easy way of scoring social proof points or getting a rise out of someone. It's much more impressive to have the balance and poise to debate for betterment rather than simply hold a desire to win. There's a big difference and a bigger outcome.

It always amazes me how smug ideologues are on the surface - like they somehow hold the key to a wit no-one else can understand. It's always useful when encountering such a creature to spend just two extra seconds looking deeper. You'll see the cracks, their confidence isn't unwavering; they don't hold all the answers and they know it.

In the Universe; all viewpoints are credible, all useful. Argue if you will. The world continues to turn. Some die, more are born - ad infinitum.

Yeah, that was what started the process off, I'm further left than Lenin, but way off in the anti-authoritarian corner, because I am inherently uninterested in telling people what to do... Other than to free the weed!

Left & Right are useful for economics, tolerable for politics, and useless for socio-culture, IMO, though my 'Left' is based on sharing of resources, forced if need be, not instructing people how to think. To my mind the economic 'right' is all about resource hoarding and the degrading fiscalisation of life itself, so I don't see any compromise with that force as being desireable, but that is just me.

Looking more closely at the original comment, I think he actually meant liberals from San Diego or nearby...
