Womblemania

Post by treetop »

So I have a severe case of Womblemania. I love the Wombles and all Womble songs including 'remember you're a womble' and of course 'Underground, Overground, wombling free'

Yes folks it is the Wombles of Wimbledon thread. Voice your love or ire at the Wombles of Wimbledon. 8)

Other acceptable alternatives are Mr Ben and Fingermouse. Maybe some more if you promise not to make them up.

Love the Wombles. The Clangers were good too, was never that keen on The Flumps, but they gotta be included for pure retro value.

As in, did the British have Sooty???

...Seems like a strange question, but, yes we did!

...I had my own Sooty when I was little...

...He died in a dog attack! :(

Maybe Sooty had a different host in Australia...

When I was a kid, it was Mathew Corbett...

The guy here:

Skippy wasn't on TV when I was little, but as Sailor reminded me, we did get an awful lot of parodies!

...This one sticks in my mind for some reason:

...Also seem to remember Jasper Carrott doing something similar, and maybe Fast Show, but I can't find either!
