MAN SHOT DEAD AS AMSTERDAM GANG WAR INTENSIFIES

Image
Picture: Twitter/@guyonessed

Another shooting in Amsterdam has ended in death. The victim was found wounded at cafe Riverside in Rijnstraat. He died moments later of his injuries.

This shooting occurred only 24 hours after the 34 year old Luana Luz Xavier was shot and killed in Amstelveen. Luz Xavier’s murder is very probably linked to the gang war that has been raging in Amsterdam over the past two years.

Last night the police received a report that someone was unwell. “When we got there we found a wounded man on the corner of Rijnstraat and Uiterwaardenstraat. He appeared to have a gunshot wound and was resuscitated in the street”, said a police spokesperson. The police can not say with certainty if the man was shot there or at another location. The identity of the man is still unknown.

It is still unclear whether there is a connection between the incident in Amstelveen on Monday and this incident in Rijnstraat last night. It is also not known whether this latest victim was connected to the Amsterdam underworld in any way."

Violent Dutch gang-war spreads across Europe

Image
The feud over a missing shipment of cocaine has already claimed at least 14 lives around the continent

Death came swiftly and without mercy for Stefan Eggermont when he parked near his Amsterdam home. The 30-year-old father of one had parked after spending the evening with brother Jordi watching Netherlands beat Brazil 3-0 in the World Cup in July this year. After opening his car door, a gunman killed him with a burst of automatic gunfire.

Despite his violent death Stefan was no gangster. He was a respected, hard-working customer service manager at a web-based marketing firm. His only crime was that he lived near to and drove the same make and colour of car as the gunman’s intended target.

He had become the first civilian casualty in a bloody war currently raging between two Dutch gangs over a missing £14 million cocaine shipment most of which was destined for the UK, which has now claimed at least 14 lives across Europe.

Dutch detectives believe he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Finding no criminal or other motive to explain his killing they now believe the intended target was the brother of a man caught up in the feud, who drove the same car, lived nearby and often used Stefan’s parking spot.

According to the Dutch justice ministry which is investigating the murders, the origin of this murder and mayhem stems from a stolen batch of cocaine in 2012. Experts believe much of the cocaine coming through Antwerp, estimated by the authorities to be 200 tonnes in 2012, is bound for the UK and Ireland where it will sell at around €50,000 per kilo in the UK compared to €30,000 in Netherlands.

In March 2012 Antwerp customs seized 200 kilos of cocaine. Unknown to them the massive seizure was but part of the full load. They believe now another large consignment of the drug had been already been stolen and was turning up in kilo quantities, selling for a lower than usual price.

Investigators believe a Dutch gang calling themselves the Turtles stole part of the consignment from a rival gang. Dutch journalist and author Wouter Laumans, explained: “The seizure In Antwerp was not reported in the media until recently so the gang thought all of it had been ripped. Then all hell has been let loose. There is no doubt in my mind that a lot of this cocaine was on its way to the UK where they can get a higher price for it. These guys are working with the British without a doubt. It’s like some kind of Guy Ritchie film except its not funny.”

At least two of the victims had links to a British criminal currently believed to be in Spain. Robert Dawes, 43, has been described as a “highly significant international criminal wanted for murder in Holland and drug importation in the UK” in documents written by the Serious Organised Crime Agency, which later became part of the UK’s National Crime Agency.

Dawes, who was named in a Dutch court as the man who ordered the murder of innocent Dutch schoolteacher Gerard Meesters in November 2002. Mr Meesters had been targeted because the criminals believed his sister Janette and her friend Madeline Brussen had absconded with a shipment of drugs belonging to Dawes. Dutch phone taps later picked up the British gang saying the “f***ing Thelma and Louise” pair had been taught a lesson. Briton Daniel Sowerby, who worked for Dawes, is currently serving life for the shooting but refused to say in court who had ordered it for fear of reprisals against his own family in the UK.

One of the first victims in the latest feud which erupted after the Antwerp drugs were stolen was a notorious Dutch criminal Gwenette Martha. Martha, is known to have worked closely with Dawes. He was previously convicted of threatening Gerard Meesters after the 2002 Dawes shipment vanished.

After the row over the Antwerp shipment erupted Martha is thought to have been called in to contact the Turtles gang and extract a fine of several million euros in lieu of the missing cocaine. Whatever deal he struck did not appear to meet the expectations of his employers who appear to believe he had double crossed them.

Martha, who had survived one attempt on his life, was killed last May. Two days after being released from police custody after being caught with firearms - police believe he was on the way to kill a rival - he was shot dead in an Amsterdam surburb as he came out of a kebab shop. Despite wearing a bullet proof vest he was hit by 80 rounds from two or more AK47 rifles. So many rounds were fired that police said it was a miracle no-one else was hit.

A second British link to the victims emerged in August this year when Samir Bouyakhrichan, 36, said to be a major figure in the Dutch-Moroccan underworld and believed to be one of the investors in the missing Antwerp cocaine, was shot dead near Marbella, Spain. Bouyakhrichan was also a business associate of Dawes - he is reputed to have been an investor. in £300 million worth cocaine shipment seized in Southampton in 2011, the largest seizure to date in the UK.

Several tit-for-tat shootings have continued to take place since Bouyakhrichan’s murder, the latest being last week when the Brazilian girlfriend of a Dutch criminal, who had been accused of luring another criminal to his death, was herself shot dead.

The shootings have shocked the Dutch public because of their brazen quality, violence and brutally. Automatic weapons have been used in several incidents In one failed assassination attempt in an Amsterdam cafe two months ago two innocent bystanders were seriously injured.

Last month Dutch police arrested a 26-year-old man in connection with Stefan’s death after confirming the firearm which killed him had been found at the suspects home. But he has told detectives he was holding the weapon for someone he will not name. The suspect does not fit the description of the assassin and he has only been charged with possession of a firearm.

Justice official Franklin Wattimena said: “This all started with the missing cocaine in Antwerp and the subsequent murder of Najeb Bouhbouh. We are warning all potential targets when intelligence is received as is our duty. We are also in a difficult situation because the people we are investigating have technology which is beating us. We thought the end to this feud came with Gwenette Martha’s death. That was not to be the case and we do not think it is at an end yet”

VIDEO RELEASED IN HUNT FOR AMSTERDAM CAFE SHOOTER

The police has released video footage of the shooting incident in cafe De Zon on Pretoriusstraat in Amsterdam East on October 10th. At about 23:20 two armed men randomly fired into the cafe from the doorway. Two customers were injured – a 32 year old man became paralyzed on one side and a 48 year old man was injured in his leg.

Image

The police investigation has found no link between the two victims and serious crime or the underworld. The detectives investigating this case assume that the shooters were aiming at one or two other customers in the pub and that the shooting is connected to the gang war that has been going on in Amsterdam for the last 2.5 years. The shooting incident was filmed by security cameras in the cafe, but the culprits could not be seen clearly.

The perpetrators fled in a black BMW 3 series. On the A10 they fired on two motorcycle police officers who gave chase. For their own safety and that of the traffic, the officers had to give up the chase. The BMW was found burning in Nieuwersluishof in Amsterdam South East at about 23:30.

A flash of light can be seen on surveillance footage when the BMW was set alight. Then a man can be seen picking something up and disappearing from view. The police assumes that he is one of the perpetrators.

Surveillance footage shows a white or gray Mercedes C class coupe driving behind the BMW in Pretoriusstraat at 23:15, just before the shooting. The police would like to speak with the occupants of this vehicle as they may have witnessed something important.

At 23:10, ten minutes before the shooting, a dark skinned man with crew cut hair bought cigarettes from the cafe. The police would like to speak to this man as he may have seen something in the area that could be relevant to the investigation."

LUANA LUZ XAVIER, 34, KILLED IN FRONT OF HER KIDS

Image

The woman who was shot and killed in Amstelveen yesterday, has been identified as Luana Luz Xavier (34), the girlfriend of the Amsterdam criminal Najib “Ziggy” H. In the criminal world she is accused of luring a target to a (failed) assassination attempt for her boyfriend H.

The Brazilian Luz Xavier was shot multiple times at about 19:30 last night on Beeckestijn in front of her teenage daughter and son. She could not be saved. The (presumably several) gunmen fled in a car, which was found burnt out a short time later on the corner of Haya van Somerenlaan and Joke Smitlaan, not far away from the crime scene.

Najib H., also known as Ziggy, is a criminal from the group around Gwenette Marta, who was executed in May. In the past H. has been accused of involvement in assassinations, but never with enough evidence. A few years ago he survived an assassination attempt in Amsterdam-Zuid. H. seems to be playing a larger, more managerial role after Martha’s death in May.

The now murdered Luz Xavier had been in circles around Gwenette Martha for some time. Since 2011 she owned a clothing store in the center of Amsterdam. In a lawsuit Martha called the store one of the companies with which he earned his money. A remarkable detail is that Luz Xavier transferred the business to a new partnership a few days before her death.

According to a comment on the internet by an apparent insider, Luz Xavier played a role in the attack on Chahid Y. In the environment Y. was accused of being a turn-cloak around the murder of Matha in Amstelveen. Luz Xavier’s boyfriend would have wanted to take revenge on Y. for that betrayal.

Gwenette Martha was executed on May 22nd on Amsterdamseweg in Amstelveen. He was exiting a kebab shop with Chadid Y. A BMW drove past from which men open fired on Martha with automatic weapons. Chadid Y. escaped unharmed.

According to the detailed comment on the internet, “a girl friend” of Ziggy H. (this probably refers to Luz Xavier) lured Chadid Y. to Almere on November 1st. There he became the target of an attack. The perpetrators planted a explosive in his car and gunmen fired on him and a passenger. They both escaped, Chahid Y. was injured.

The writer of the very detailed piece on the internet called Ziggy H. “the new boss of the group Martha”. According to him, H. wants Chahid Y. and his brother “cleaned up at all cost”. In the piece Ziggy H. was accused of several murders. The tipster named names of underworld figures who are in some cases considered involved by the police. The piece was removed again shortly after it was posted on the internet. According to the site administrator, this was done by order of the police."

SISTERS OF ASSASSINATED LUANA LUZ XAVIER IN POLICE SAFE HOUSE

Image
Luana Luz Xavier (Picture: Politie)

The sisters of Luana Luz Xavier, who was shot in Amstelveen last week Monday, are being housed in a secret, safe place by the police. The reason for this development is unknown.

That is according to Mark Teurlings, the family’s lawyer. According to Teurlings, he tried to get in touch with the sisters, Luciara and Wabia, since Thursday, but was unable to do so. He finally contacted the police. “They told me that the sisters are in a safe place and that I don’t have to worry.” He does not know why the police decided to house them.

According to the lawyer, the media coverage of this case causes a lot of rumors to be spread. “The rumor mill is in full swing. Luana is sometimes put in the stories in the media as a major criminal, while none of it is true. All sorts of stories are also told about the family that are not true.” Teurlings says that Luana was a hardworking woman who kept herself busy with her business and her children.

The 34 year old Luana Luz Xavier was shot and killed in front of her teenage daughter and young son in Amstelveen last week Monday. The perpetrators’ burning getaway car was found a few blocks away. Several possible motives for her murder is under investigation by the police. She was in a relationship with Najib “Ziggy” H., an alleged ringleader in the criminal group around Gwenette Martha, which is involved in the Amsterdam gang war. She also owned a clothing store in Amsterdam that the Martha group allegedly used as a source of legal income.

The police have asked for any witnesses to come forward to help solve this murder."

nltimes.nl - Dec 24, 2014 by Janene Van Jaarsveldt

HAMZA B.: 20 YEARS FOR AMSTERDAM GANG WAR DOUBLE HOMICIDE

Image

The Moroccan judge yesterday sentenced Hamza B. to 20 years in prison. B. was involved in a double homicide and triple attempted murder in Staatsliedenbuurt in Amsterdam on December 29th, 2012. The prosecutor demanded the death penalty earlier that day, which in practice means life in prison.

The shooting in Staatsliedenbuurt is not an isolated occurrence. It was the third, and so far most violent, attack in the still ongoing gang war in Amsterdam. Two weeks ago Luana Luz Xavier was murdered in Amstelveen. It was uncertain whether the case against the 27 year old B. would be handled by the Moroccan court yesterday. The case was postponed the previous five times, partly because B. several times appointed a new lawyer at the last minute.

On Tuesday B.’s lawyer again tried to get a delay, but the judge quickly decided that the case was ready to be handled. The hearing started at 14:30. Two and a half hours later the prosecutor demanded the death penalty. And at 19:30 the judge came back with a verdict. Hamza B. was sentenced to an unconditional prison sentence of 20 years. He also has to pay 10 thousand euros in compensation to his victims. He did not receive the death penalty because of “extenuating circumstances”. Exactly what those circumstances are was not explained last night. B. still maintains that he is innocent.

According to the prosecutor, Hamza B. drove the Audi from which shots were fired in Staatsliedenbuurt two years ago. Two people died. The third target, Benaouf A., managed to escape. They also fired at two motorcycle officers. B.’s DNA was found in the driver’s seat. Benaouf A. stated that he heard in the circuit that B. was the driver. When the first suspect in the Staatsliedenbuurt executions, Adil A., was arrested in early 2013, B. immediately fled to Morocco. According to him, he did not flee. The Dutch Moroccan was already planning to go to his parents’ country. “My grandfather was sick.” B. possesses both a Dutch and Moroccan passport.

B. is one of six suspects in the Staatsliedenbuurt executions and the only one who fled to Morocco. Three others, Adil A., Anouar B. and Stefan S., are expected to be tried in the Netherlands in March. Naoufal B. is also regarded as a suspect, but Justice currently does not have sufficient evidence to prosecute him. The sixth suspect, Derkaoui van der Meijden, was murdered last summer.

The conflict in the Amsterdam underworld revolves around 200 kilograms of missing cocaine. There are basically two camps that can be distinguished: the group around the (now murdered) career criminal Gwenette Martha and the group around Benaouf A., the intended victim of the Staatsliedenbuurt executions. Last month A. was sentenced to 10 years in prison for involvement in the murder of Najeb Bouhbouh on October 18th, 2012."
