I just had a 25/1 winner in Qualando. Or rather, I would have done, had I not changed my mind. Instead, I had the place part of an e/w double going onto a horse that is probably still running. I think I'm going to have a good cry.

£8 down today, this misses certainly owes me drinks after her appalling showing today 1 place 1 win.

I missed two Nichols winners which I'm not happy about but at least with three places, one Winner and a non runner in the last I made a profit just not enough to cover her loses!!

Tomorrow is going to be a good day for The ACD crew

15.20 At Fisher's Court

16.00 Aupcharlie/Dare Me

This is traditionally the day where I recoup my losses and go into a very nice profit, although that didn't happen last year. And I'm rather gloomy about this year as well.

A last-minute saver on Uxizandre (sometimes changing one's mind is a good thing, and the Irish have a poor record in that race) got me out of trouble yesterday. If Bally Legend had won, I'd have had a magnificent win double; had it placed, I'd have had a decent each-way double. And if the words 'if' and 'should' and all the obscenities were banned in betting shops, they'd be eerily silent.

Anyway, my tentative ideas at the moment are:

13.30 Beltor

14.05 Hawk High/Waxies Dargle

14.40 Definitly Red/Blaklion

15.20 Road to Riches/Sam Winner

16.00 [ignore previous horse, brain fart] Chosen Milan

16.40 Vieux Lion Rouge

17.15 Brick Red/Mount Colah

I keep looking at Baraka de Thaix in the opener. It's been a disappointing horse since the Pipe stable acquired it in France. But a French jockey (who never rode it over there) is coming over for the one ride. I can't see any reason why it should have any sort of chance, and maybe Jacques Ricou just fancies a shopping trip. But I might have a small bet on it on the off-chance that there's a point to the exercise.
