Just seen this. Very sad.

I used to chat to him on his site when I went to Amsterdam regularly, but then after 2020 I stopped going, and rarely looked in here or over there. Always hoped to meet him in real live. RIP friend.

Haven't been in the Dam for nearly 2 years, but used to arrive at stupid o'clock, and would head for 1e Hulp. No idea if it's still open at 7am.

Bugger. I don't drink in the Dam, but it was my go-to place for taking someone who did. Or just for relaxing a bit with a milkshake or coffee when I didn't want to be pressured, or tempted, into buying something to smoke.

Cheers. Actually, hotel prices seem to have dropped to a sane level again, so I might do more than a day trip.

Did you have to show proof of booked accommodation? And were you asked to self-isolate for a bit (though it doesn't look like you've done)?

I hate the scoring ritual, which is why I love the simplicity of Amsterdam retailers, where cannabis can be sold as a normal everyday product. But of course lockdown put an end to my trips, so I've been forced to rely on local supply. I've actually cultivated new acquaintances, so it's all good ...

The UK isn't even testing NHS frontline staff. If Brexit made the world think we were losing it, this latest fiasco must given the impression that we're clinically insane.

The Cherry Pie was the only hash on the menu when I was there a few weeks back. I don't know why I keep looking in. Probably out of nostalgia for the old shop. But if they have started getting proper hash, I'd be interested in knowing.

The Flying Dutchman has a pool table. How good it is, I don't know, but people were playing on it when I was there.

As a follow-up to the above post: went back recently with the idea of buying the better of the two hashes. Just to make sure which was which, I asked to smell both.

Unfortunately, the test wasn't decisive. Despite confirmation bias, it was the alleged 24K Kush that had the odour I associated with ...

I did a day trip for 420 in 2018. I've done any number of day trips, but not by plane, because I'm not fond of the attention one gets at airports.

Where are you coming from? From the UK or the continent it's doable; if you're in the States, it's a bit eccentric.

I was intrigued by the price cuts for Lemon Haze Hash and 24K Kush Hash, which were rated good when they were more expensive. Could they really be smokable at the price? I tried them at the shop in the centre, where the prices were the same.

Well, maybe. The Lemon Haze seems like a good bargain ...
