lol at sharing the same birthday as Hitler.
Amazing coincidence here, or maybe you knew already?

As you can see the 420 came from the American students meeting for a smoke at 4:20 by the Louis Pasteur statue; who you also share a birthday with.

The Kuil, September and October 2009
The Kuil has been our home away from hotel since the end of the 90's or early in the new century. After a gap of almost four years we went again to Amsterdam (September and October) and headed for the Oudebrugsteeg as soon as we dumped or bags at the hotel.
It was good to be back even though there had been changes imposed by new laws. I don't drink and my wife would only have the occasional Gin and OJ so the absence of alcohol didn't make that big a difference directly. The weed was, as always, good and reasonably priced. It was also nice to see the place open at 10:00 rather than 13:00 or so. Still the place had lost some of its charm. The old place had an older crowd who drank some, or a lot, but I never really saw anybody get out of hand. The kids who now filled the seats were quiet and well behaved, but they weren't interested in any of the social aspects of the place. They wanted to catch a buzz and head off to play elsewhere. It was very hard to meet new people, and that wasn't the case way back when.
I dealt with two different guys running the weed counter. One guy was quite pleasant and helpful about some questions I had about the "new" Amsterdam. The other guy was as polite as he needed to be, but seemed to have his own program on his mind and it didn't include the customers. The manager was giving him hell one night about keeping his mind on business. I wasn't surprised.
My wife and I were greeted warmly by the owner when he came in the shop in the afternoon. He didn't, however, spend any real time there, and I believe that is because the older crowd was no longer in attendance. He's a good sort and the place misses his presence.
Max, the cat, is the best.
I'm still a fan, and haven't found a shop to replace it, but... Perhaps I'll see what the forum recommends.

One of my top favorite shops. Balou and I hit this spot up a bunch! Sampled the NYC Diesel which was amazing tasted like candy on the inhale and exhale! never sampled anything like it, a true diesel! Also tried the Chocolope and the Blueberry which were both top smokes!balou1999 wrote:Went to 420 several times last week and enjoyed it. The gear is usually up to par and it's close to Centraal Station. Tried the 420 Kush, CC entry, not as good as I remember but still a solid smoke.

420 is all about the vibe and not so much about the gear imo, I rarely buy from there myself. I just like chilling with some classic rock tunes playing and some nature documentaries on the tv, or sitting by the window with a coffee and a pipe, watching the world walk past on a rainy afternoon.Kingdoc wrote:Got some red morroc from there on sunday night for 8 euros,Easily the worst hash ive had during the whole 10 days,Twitch put the word out about there hash last time as well,This 4-20 place will be taking a back seat from now on i think.
6 days and I'll be doing just that.
