this shop is one of the best. I go there all the time to get some of the best weed in the dam. JOhn is probably the most friendly dealer in the dam and knows everything about weed and hash. i have read many posts on here saying it is always very busy when people visit, i have found,if you go there when they open it is never busy and u can sit and chill for a bit with john. the other man who works there ( i cant remember his name ) is pretty cool too. the man from new zeland

Gotta love it

:D Well, it was my second trip to the Dam and I'm only 18, I love it. I'm american and read that the grey area was a must visit. Besides the noon for their blueberry, this was the only other shop I visited and it was well worth the stop. I got greyberry, g13 haze, and 4077 medicinal. The bud is all good, but to get the best, simply chat up the dealer and ask for it. Most people know this, but some argue its all the strain. Wrong!!! Each time you go ask for what you want (strong, mild, stone, heady, etc.) and the dealers there are very friendly and helpful. I liked the place a lot despite being small and grungy. They have a wide array of bongs for use as well as a volcano vaporizer (which I wasn't that impressed with). The cool thing about this shop if you're travelling alone is that its so small, I think there are 4 tables huddled in a corner along with a bar strip to the right when you walk in. Consequently you can meet other smokers and share buds and maybe learn a little language. I met up with a bunch of japanese tourists who I got into a bowing contest with and then was rewarded with a fat nug of grey mist and a plethora of "arigatos." Anyway, highly recommend the shop.

This was my second visit to the Grey Area but it wont be my last. I love this place. It is small but very cool. It is a shop for the serious smoker. No Alcohol and as it is generally populated by Americans there is very little Tobacco smoke to get in the way of enjoying the great Buds they sell. As it is small place I tend not to linger but I would imagine that it could be a nice way to spend the day.

I bought 1/2 a gram of G13 haze and 1/2 a gram of Grey haze.

The G13 was great! It does great stuff with the ambient noise. I went for a walk around the Jordaan after smoking this weed. Really nice! Felt like I was in a western.

The Grey Haze was really nice but I only got to smoke half a joint of it as a group of Russian Sailors stole it from me. I hope it blew their thieving minds.

Just got an email from Jon at Grey Area. He says that they have a new employee who has enabled them to open on Mondays so they are now open 7 days a week from 12:00 – 20:00.

Yeah Grey Area is mint. just been back for the 3rd time this weekend and the guy serving was really cool. Got some of the crystals again, always top notch. The smoke continues to be high grade, always been my favourite place for gear, even if it is a bit too small.

The hours used to be 12 (ish depending on if they could be arsed to open on time) till 8pm and shut on mondays, so this is a great improvement, although they've been doing these hours since before xmas as I stumbled in one monday morning to see the new guy with the biggest smile I've seen on anyones face in a long time.

My 2ND fav shop (Tied with Tweede Kamer) in all of A-dam.

On my very first visit I was waiting on line as I did so I was reading all the stickers on the walls and I noticed a 94 WHJY (a Rhode Island radio station) sticker on the wall, this totaly blew my mind. I finaly reached the counter and asked Jon "Where the hell did you get a HJY sticker?!?!!?!?!) and he told me that he is from RI back in the states, "Oh my god!!!! I'm from RI too!!!! I practicly screamed, being that there was no one behind me we launched into an extensive convo about RI and he was quite dejected to hear that a couple of RI landmarks are now gone.

I ordered a GM of 4077TH, A GM of Grey Mist Crystals & a GM of Golden Soles and he (Jon) gave me a GM of grey mist, a GM of bubble gum, a GM of Yellow Cab, a Coke and a lighter for free!! !!!

Jon is the coolest and friendliest tender you will meet in A-dam bar none, Steve has his moments but all in all is a very nice person as well, & I look forward to meeting this new person on my next visit so I can give him a shot in the eye for stealing my dream job (Joking) :P

Grey Area should have been #1 and would have been if it wasent for it's size, this is it's only drawback. It is however 2ND to none when it comes to gear & service.

Oh yeah I almost forgot to mention that thanks to Jon's generosity and my stupidity I experienced my first and only NEARwhitey. THANX JON!!!!!!!!!!! :P
