Expensive but they have some amazing weed so who cares. The G-13 I purchased here made me feel like it was the first I had ever smoked. Could not stop laughing mostly because my friends who came with me don't smoke daily like myself and they were tripping balls. Loved every minute of it.

G13Haze and Red Diesel are top batches again... the last (winter) months, the batches of these barneys strains didnt impress, that changed

Went into Barney's for the first time last week.

I was planning on getting the 10 Euro hash they had(cheapest one) as I wanted a nice, mellow experience(and told the budtender so). Not too intense, just strong enough to say I've had hash.

He recommended I spend the extra 1 Euro.

So I bought the King Hassan Hash.

My review...

Nice review. Never really had hash either, so I might have to try that.

WE ARE AUSTRALIAN COUPLE 50 YR,HAVE SMOKED ONLY LOCAL BUDS,TRAVELLING TO BARNEY'S IN AMSTERDAM FIRST TIME.ARE THERE ANY BAD STRAINS?.ALTHOUGH WE SMOKE HEAPS,WOULD ANY BUD SATISTY OUR NEEDS ON ARRIVAL OR IS IT THE NORM TO GO THE CUP WINNERS AND PASS OUT? You practically copied and pasted the same thing in 3 different threads, this one and Tweede Kamer and Amnesia. Why?

Is it first time using the internet (WHY THE CAPS???) or laziness that you can't be bothered to read through the threads which are already packed with info on the strains that you are looking for anyway??

To answer your question, Barney's has very good weed and hash but it is overpriced. Expect to pay 2 or 3 Euros more for the weed. The hash is a bit better, they have some very nice hash varieties that go for 20 to 25 Euro a gram which is unusual to see in Amsterdam (most hash is around 7-10 per gram, ice-o-laters at 30+ Euros per gram). Drinks are also a ripoff here at 2.80 for a Cola I think. This is even higher than most of the red light area.

Basically, Barneys is full of a lot of hype associated with the cup. They do strongly in it each year but don't forget that them and the Greenhouse also invest heavily in it. Might as well check out Barneys but I don't know a single person who hangs out there every day of their holiday. I think that speaks volumes about the type of place i.e. nice but too commercial and expensive to make a habit out of.

edit: your best bet is to just ask the dealer. Tell him you want good stuff, how often you smoke at home and when you last smoked. They have their finger on the pulse in terms of what strains are looking good and what are not at the moment as every grow differs in quality, even with the exact same genetics so even the reviews here can be "out of date" within a few days.

You already wrote that i sent this message before,why did you repeat it again lol?I posted this message in 4 threads thinking people usually stick to their favourite shops and to get a cross section in advise.You seem to write in all the threads,we are first timers to amsterdam and seeking advise,not someone who has nothing better to do than scour other peoples messages,get a life.Thank you for all the people who did help us,my wife is suffering breast cancer and we visiting the dam for first time.Thank god not everyone is like Wieter lol.Would like to thank Barneys for sending helpful email.

Don't forget Mr Wietroker i posted it on Mellow Yellow also or where you saving that one for a later date? Don't ask don't get i was always told.Wow how long have these little letters been on this computer? Modern technology is wonderful.Took me twice as long to type though, but as long as weenytoker is happy.

As a bc survivor of 3 years, I'm sending you and your misses good vibes. I know how hard it can be, but Amsterdam is a great place to lose some of the stress. I haven't been a big time smoker for years, but I do enjoy a nice buzz in a relaxing setting. My favorite place is Paradox in the Jordaan. Don't just keep to the coffee shops, though. Get out and enjoy the parks and museums, too.

Thank you,yes we don't intend to stay indoors,but needed to find nice cosy tourist friendly place beforehand.Little bit extra cost is no problem as long as nice coffee and service.We are up to speed on attractions restaurants etc but as i am cronic and staying Dubai b4 hand for a night thought be nice to have location to mellow out on arrival. cheers
