While the shop itself is a bit small and cramped this shop has always provided me with some of the most memorable smokes (e.g. the double gum and ak47 from back in the day and the chocolope a few years back). The grey mist kif is always a staple to my 'dam smoking diet and is awesome for making 'sand dune' bong hits...

Finally checked this place out last week, after living in the dam for over 6 months!

Really good menu, with some unusual and exotic stuff. Its true that some items are expensive, but they do also have some reasonably priced gear! I was after the East Coast Sour Diesel but they were out, so I went for the Casey Jones and sat down with a glass bong.

The Casey Jones was excellent, VERY stong weed!! I also liked the vibe, good music and cool interior.

I only have one problem with Grey Area, and thats the location. I was there in the afternoon, and almost every second person/group that walked past would stop and stare. Has anyone else noticed this? Its one thing to make 1-2 seconds eye contact, thats normal... but way too many people would slowly look me up and down like I was an animal or something. Ok, yes its a public place, but c'mon... its not really fun to hit a bong while some middle aged women are gawking and commenting amongst themselves! After a while I put my sunglasses on, fuck em 8) Next time I'll probably buy and fly, I think this street is just a little too busy for me...

Yeah bleak, nothing 4 it I'm afraid. U were sitting in a touristy part of town in one of the most famous coffeeshops known amongst tourists. U could always walk halfway around the block and take refuge in a dark corner of Amnesia. Grey Area is fun to sit in once or twice but it's mainly a buy 'n fly 4 me. I'm usually happy with 1 of their cheaper strains (grey haze, greyberry, etc.) unless I'm looking 4 something special. That and a gram of the golden soles pleez.
Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

good idea, I haven't tried Amnesia yet...

Its not that I want a dark corner, quite the opposite... I like smoking outside in the sun. But not when theres a continous stream of people looking into my eyes and watching every move I make

Grey Area is a wicked shop. I will probably sit there again, but will try to go when things are quieter!

I like to stare back, you've got to remember most tourists are non-smokers so you automatically become part of the attraction to them, just blow the smoke in their direction in future or pop your head out the door and ask them if they want a hit.

Haha, when i was last there a big group with a guide stopped outside, these 2 ladies came to the door as i was hitting the vapourizer!!

Lots of photos of me were taken 8) 8) 8)

I don't mind, i don't have a problem with it, and plus i had a laugh with the 2 ladies, asked them if they wanted to hit the Vapourizer with me

But if you get a bit Para then maybe not the best place for ya....

Kasey Jones was only ok and the chiesel was the only smoke of the trip that I gave away to someone who was walking out of Bulldog. (Figured they would really enjoy :P ) Grey Area was a big disappointment this trip, but I will certainly go back again. This shop was great on my first trip and it sounds as if my experience this trip is more exception than rule.

Never felt 'truly' welcome in here I must say. Always been very busy, seemed like I was being a bit of a nuisance whilst having the audacity to queue up. Had Yellow Cab and East Coast Sour Diesel from here. Won't lie and say i was BLOWN away, but it was alright. I'd only ever buy and leave from here, but frankly I prefer the stuff in Amnesia, round the corner. The pineapple haze from there is awesome.
