love this place

really busy each time we went, but a not packed or annoyingly full.

decent chatty atmosphere with bar stools, sofas, and out front seating. the atmos measn you stay alert and chatty too, no momnging in the corner here! ha ha

the service was great, and we chatted away with the canadian tender.

got myself some nepalese pollen from here, with was sticky as anything. perfectly good.

perfectly situated near albert cuyp, and many bars cafes and resturants of de pijp.

combine this place with the amazing brown bar 'cafe gollem' which is 4 minutes walk away and youve got an amazing evening on your hands.

Was in there the other day while exploring the truely epic market outside.
The menu to me seems a bit uninspired, but still some gems and good prices.
We sat in here for an hour using the verdamfer and enjoying some looza juices.

Made my usual stop at Katsu after a walk through the market. The place was empty for a change. Had the Black Widow and another strain, where are my notes? Still has the same great service and great selection.

Went there end of this May. Compared to my visit last year this time was kind of a disappointment.

Bought mazaar i shareef for 20€/1,1g, wasn't sure about buying(as no traditional hash is worth 20e in my opinion) but ended up with 'fuck it you're on holiday' . So I guess it's my fault, right  !?
Looked a bit dry but the inside was a bit oily though. Lacked a punch and I should stick to other varities there next time

Next thing was the older female budtender came up with 'We have to store it at the freezer as its pretty sticky and squidgy' when I asked for the 'nepal ice-o-lator' for 10€ for 0,7g.
But it wasn't as I was hanging arround a couple of hours in this shop and the hash was still nothing more than soft.
High was better than the mazaar one, kind of sativa.
Overall due to the comment of the budtender I felt a bit ripped off  .
E.g. 'Dhaula Giri' at Bluebird has to be stored at the freezer if you want it out of your bag  . Otherwise it melts with the baggie
And: it provides a better punch, too.

Also bought 'Black Widow' and 'Lavender'. Last one better than the widow which wasn't at the same quality level of last year.

Nonetheless I would give Katsu another go next time.

Have to take exception with you Iko on this one, though in general, I enjoy your posts. Katsu has a very unique menu compared with run-of-the-mill shops. Here are some of the rare items you can find on their menu.

Crystal Clear - the original ice-o-lator that won a Cannabis Cup back in the nineties. In terms of potency, I always felt it to be on par with the best known heavy hitters: DK Moonshine (Waterworks) and Barney's Rubble. Over the years, I've seen it increase in price from €10 per 0.5g to €20 per 0.4g so that it's now roughly equal in cost. Too bad, as it was always one of the bargains I looked forward to picking up.

Haze 2.0 and Haze Ice -- Unpressed and lightly pressed ice-o-lator. I've never tried these b4, but they're on my radar.

Katsu also carries exotic hashes including Nepal Annapourna, Mazaar-i-Shareef, Moroccan Ice, and Red Leb. Without a doubt, you can find these types elsewhere but you won't find them at your mom-and-pop 4+4's. Their Moroccan Ice in particular, represents solid bang for the buck value at 2.35g/€20. Very strong for that price.

Lastly, from time to time, you see a lot of Soma strains at Katsu priced lower than Hunter's or DK. Recent examples include SoGouda, Lavender, and SoMango. For a while, Katsu was also the only shop I knew that had Black Widow. Peace.
Everyone seems normal until you get to know them.

had some lovely og 18 here. the black widow was good too, but had less of a punch. really amazing was the haze 2.0 ice. a joint of some g13- amnesia and that ice made me sooo incredibily high. did not smoke wighin the neft hour which is really rare for me when visiting the dam.

Dropped in to Katsu for the first time recently and found it to be friendly, chilled and not a bad place to enjoy a smoke. Picked up two grams of SAGE for €20 which is a pretty nice price.

First time trying SAGE and I really liked it. Excellent flavours and a great comfortable high. Will be checking out this strain again. Also Katsu will be visited again as it has a fine menu and this sample of was top notch.

they had some nice nepal polm for 10€/g or 5€/0,5g on the menu. It was the advice of the dealer. And yes I liked it very much good clean nepal taste and a smooth head high.

I love this place because the staff knows everything about their weed and hashes and is so friendly. Every time I am in amsterdam Katsu is a must visit.

I-man and I queen was at Katsu earlier this year, in march or april if remember correctly. Went there to sample the Black Widdow, which were real smooth and nice. Recommended still.

still as good as ever...same friendly lady behind the bar, same nice extensive menu and the place looks a bit cleaner!

grabbed the obligatory Black Widow which of course did not disappoint and wanted to try the So Gouda but didn't feel like spending that much on the special so i grabbed a gram of Tibisla which really glazed me over a few minutes ago 8)

don't beat yourself up, the menu is the same as on fbn's site...we were in a hurry here so i asked for a joint of pure to which she replied; "thai or skunk?" so i opted for the skunk at 4euro...this was the cheapest pure i had seen on any menu...it blazed me out hard for a good long time, nice surprise.

the "super haze" is not on fbn*s site. i think it was 1.6 g for 20 € and quite spicy!
