Here they are, 12 days after planting seed.

Some are growing much faster than others...The last one (exile) being easily the largest. 4 + 6 especially are much smaller in comparison.

Hit the first one with some water and it almost fell completely over! I stood it back up and packed the soil a bit around the base...is this OK?

Hey ZBeebs! The more Indica dominant plants like the Exile, as well as the Rocklock and the Kush plants, will grow wider and more squat then the Pineapple Express, which I assume is more on the Sativa side; that's probably the one that's the smallest of the lot. Cannabis plants will grow at different speed, Sativas are usually slower. I think they look like there growing just fine. I would suggest adding a root stimulator to you water, if you haven't done so already. The root system really needs to thrive right now!
As for the fallen sprout, if the stalk hasn't been cut or crimped, it should be fine; and, I it's fine to re-plant it the way you did. I would support your sprouts with small sticks. I like to use small Kabob Skewers cut to size! Also, you should gently pour your water in the pots, do not spray them!

It's the rocklock that's the smallest...an indica dominant...maybe it was planted too deep, maybe bad seed, maybe something else.

was at the grow shop today to buy a clip on fan to blow some air on them, I read you need them to move a bit so the stalks are strong to hold up as they grow. The fan isn't powerful enough to move all 9 seedlings at once, so either I move it around every day so they all get some, or I buy a fan that is larger and moves back and forth.

I also bought a digital thermometer/hygrometer. Turns out it's way too hot in there. I've got the bottom zippers open on the tent and have it down to 80.6 at the level of the tallest seedling, down from 85. (I ran ducting from the inlet of the vortex fan in the tent to the bottom of the tent to pull hot air from down low up and out. I also raised the light so that it's about 3/4 of the way up the tent. The temp in the room where the tent is is now 75 - about 9 degrees warmer than normal. The tent exhausts right into the room.

Will running a sealed reflector make enough of a difference if I'm still venting out into the room? I can add the flanges and glass to this reflector, it's only a matter of money...of which I spent about another $100 today. In addition to the stuff at the grow shop I bought keyed locks for the room the tent is in as well as the flexible ducting mentioned above.

Maybe the temp is why things seem to be going so slowly? I've looked at pics of other peoples grows and their plants look much bigger at the 2 week mark.

Humidity is at 54%. I haven't even begun to research what it should be yet.

I asked about a root stimulator at the grow shop and they game me a 1 oz sample of Great White.

Instructions they gave me say to use 3oz of solution in a 4" container, 5oz in a 1 gallon container and 32oz of solution in a 5 gallon container. Of course, now it occurs to me that they are assuming that you are starting in a small container and transplanting as you go, and I'm starting in 3 gallon pots and not transplanting then into anything larger.

I ended up making 1 gallon of solution and split it evenly into my 9 plants, about 14 ounces each. I realize now that it was probably too much, but it was only half a teaspoon of powder into a gallon of water. I guess I will see if doing this without thinking will have an effect.

If nothing bad happens, I am considering following the directions - to use once every 2 weeks, stop using 5 weeks before harvest. Maybe half as much next time? If I use it at the same strength I did today, I should have enoungh to last for this grow.

Hey ZeBeebs! 75f degrees should be fine, to much heat can certainly effect the growth. Also, Try to get the Humidity around 60%. You can put a humidifier on a timer and check it from time to time. Use an oscillating fan so you cover all of the plants, just enough air to move them a little. I would still use little stakes to brace them. I don't know anything about Great White root stimulator. It sounds like you didn't use to much based on the percentage of the suggested amount, you can call your grow shop to be sure! You may want to add a little Super-Thrive or something like that to the water to help promote growth, ask your grow shop about that as well. Good Luck!

Inside the tent is 80. The room the tent is in is 75. I underestimated how much heat the light would throw off.

Going to check temps in the morning...

Humidity level is perfect, don't sweat it. The Great White is mycorrhizae which is excellent, but If you want a seriously bad ass root stimulator try this shit. It'll only set you back about $60 for a 500mL bottle.

Good nitrogen fixer but get it ass kicked by H&G Roots Excelurator

I was worried about heat so I went out and bought the parts to seal my reflector. Another $55 spent including the ducting and clamps. Temps dropped almost immediately to 70.5 degrees. Opening one of the doors in the room got it down to 77...sealing the reflector dropped it the rest of the way.(my basement is made up of two finished rooms and one large unfinished portion. In the smaller of the two finished rooms I have the grow tent. I now have the door opened into the unfinished portion and the cold air being sucked in is very noticable.)

Right after this, I had to leave, and won't be back until sunday night. I wish I had a day to monitor temps and make sure it was in range but I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed...gave then each about a pint of water before leaving. (watered them well 2 days ago also) Here's pics with the ducting and of the seedlings, taken yesterday afternoon, 14 days after planting the seeds:

You should be fine temp wise now, the bottom pic looks nice, watch the water on the leaves though as it'll burn spots onto them.

Yeah, looks like your plants experienced some heat stress. They can still recover, but your yield is gonna suffer. Getting the temp right is essential for growing healthy plants.

how much of an impact on yield would heat stress have, now that heat is no longer a problem? Enough that I should kill these and start over?

no, not in my opinion. You are gonna make tons more mistakes on your first grow, I can promise you the first batch will not be perfect!

If i were u i would keep going, learn from every mistake you make, and then in a few crops time you'll have enough knowledge to identify and fix a problem very quickly.
