Whoa! 25%? Is there some new VAT on beverages?

Perhaps it is because we are now entering the off-season?

I was there on the 16th of November and don't recall seeing one weed item priced at 15e, or 14e, or even 13e (possibly wrong). Usually their top-shelf weed is Bas Special and Amnesia at 12e per gram. Honorable mention to Heavenly Haze and Cheese.
This of course is all moot if they did raise the prices since the 16th. I will see for myself in a few...

I think both the G-13 Haze and OG Kush was €15, but the rest remained the same.

Guess the one I think some of us now have tried also will be more expensive once it's one the menu. Jackhammer was it?

Didn't think too much of the prices but remember a guy who didn't want to pay €4 for his Red Bull...

Fifteen Euros per gram, seriously? Fuck me. :(
They didn't have G-13, OG Kush, or Jackhammer on the 16th. TBH, their selection during that time was limited. No Amnesia, no Cheese, and small bud Bas Special. Wonder if they switched distributor(s) and this is the reason for the change?
Seems to me that 15e is becoming more common place these daze, eh? I remember less than two years ago paying 10e for Bas Special and Amnesia. These will probably be 13e by springtime. :(

I still think the first 20e per gram offering (somewhere in The NL) will be in the spring/summer of 2012. Not a stretch since some are charging 17e already.

they may not have the largest selection ... but it is undoubtedly the coffeeshop I felt fastest and most welcome in. :)
my buddy and me sitting there on the first night, for almost an hour, and smoke our own stuff .. without buying anything other than 2 "chocomel" .. and there was not one who tried to push us to buy more than that 8) 8)

PS. I had not mentioned that I was from the forum :P

I visited the shop on the 14th and noticed the addition of G13(?) and OG Kush, at 15e per gram. The rest of the menu was basically the same as before.

I've had several conversations with bud-tenders and regulars, and their opinion on increased prices is that it could be one or more of the following:
1. Distributors charging more per kilo, from 5000e to 8000e+ as an example. The reasons could be multiple although I think it comes down to two - greed and paranoia about the future (longer prison sentences for growers).
2. C/S owners may have the same reasons as stated above, with the addition that because some shops are charging 15e and even 17.50e per gram, the rest follow suit. Charge what the market will bear and all that.

To be quite honest, I would probably do the same. If I thought there was going to be a major shift in policy which in turn meant reduced revenue, what else is there to do? Same applies to increased wholesale prices - pass it on to the customer.

I predicted/theorized that the first C/S to charge 20e per gram would be in 2012. With some shops charging 17.50 (for Neville's Haze), I just might be right. Less than 2 years ago Quazar was going for 15e, now it's 17e+. If the laws change forbidding foreigners from buying, 20e will be this year with a possibility of 25e by 2012/13 (market demand and all that).
Time will tell.
