Re: America's greatest artist?
Had a good look at his web site, awesome technique.
I love art and studied graphic design but have never painted anything on canvas with oils or acrylics until about a month ago. I'm not finished yet but currently painting a portrait of Mila Kunis onto canvas. It's coming along fine.

There must have been a door there in the wall when I came in.

What really makes this painting so beautiful is that Ronald Reagan, America's greatest hero this century, is in it. *tear comes to eye*

FYI, I was being cynical. This joker is no artist. He makes me embarrassed to be American. #takingthepiss

Re: America's greatest artist?
As you brought this up, I didn't want to say what you said there geoffk, so I kept my reply vague, so as not to start pissing off you yanks with what I wanted to honestly say about this artist, being the first to reply to the thread. I do think he has a good artistic technique, which I already pointed out but refrained commenting on the subject matter which is diabolical and avoided passing on opinion on.
I don't really understand why you say he's no artist. I think he paints very well, but guess I look at art differently to some.

Maybe you're right, I just have trouble seeing past the subject matter, which shouldn't define art.TRANCE wrote:I don't really understand why you say he's no artist. I think he paints very well, but guess I look at art differently to some.
