would a LOOKING FOR OLD FRIEND thread be ok do you think???
hi guys
just wondering if this would be ok, i would love to get in touch with an old friend, tried the usual friend finders and facbook sites, nothing.
i could put as many details about them that i could remember, including obviously full name and possible loaction, but i feel this could possibly cause problems somehow
what do you guys think?

havent a clue if they come on here, but anyone searching amdserdam info may stumble upon this site,
but, say if they dont smoke no more, has a very important job, dunno, i just got a gut feeling theres something wrong about putting all i know about someone on a website ?
other opinions please, cheers mate

well if you choose to continue my suggestion would be to put no location or identification information in your request, but only write about things that only you two would know about, ie the past and things that happened or laughs that you hadchillers2 wrote:i just got a gut feeling theres something wrong about putting all i know about someone on a website ? other opinions please, cheers mate
the criteria should be such that your friend will instantly recognise himself from your stories of the past, but that no one else could possibly identify your friend or find his home or place of work
good luck ...

Wise words of advice, "StonedSince'67".
"chillers2", this may sound right out of 'left field' to you, or others, but you might surprise yourself..... Get stoned, ...i know, it's a dirty job but somebody's got to do it!!, ....and try and think around your present problem....is there another route you could take to find your friend? Try and think through the times you spent together for clues that could move your search along.... people who may have knew you both, their type of work - could this help if you did some more searches on the internet.... Did they buy lots of 'Roor' bongs or something similar? you could ask the company if they have their details to pass on your number to phone them.... If they live in "Britain" the 'Electorial Register'?
Get with the stoned abstract thinking!! I'm sure it was the 2nd in command at "Microsoft" that said he was down at the 'sub-atomic' level when he had his 'epiphany' whilst stoned..... The list goes on.....

Good advice there, some other suggestions are googling their name, or their employers as they sometimes have a mug shot of their staff on websites, also try any family members they may have on face book because I for one don't use my own name and use that of my pets, friends also use nicknames so you may never find them using real names, like I say try their family or friends search and see if ya can view their friends..
But I'd go down the electorol route
Good luck...

Re: would a LOOKING FOR OLD FRIEND thread be ok do you think
It's so frustrating looking for old friends, isn't it? You can never seem to find them, they've got married and changed their names or God knows what. On the other hand, people you don't want to be looking for keep popping up in front of your eyes. StonedSince'67 gives good advice - if you think there's a chance your friend might be on here, write some stories and memories and they might show up, but don't give their phone numbers or old addresses or anything.
Ah, friendships you made a while ago before there was facebook and e-mail, those are the sweetest memories and the most impossible people to find, aren't they?
Also, it's worth googling, if they have a more unusual name. In other case, it's useless.
