Voyager's King Kong

The King Kong (13.50/g) is really nice at Voyagers right now. Listed on the menu as an indica. Pleasant aroma sweet rosemary with an undertone of skunk. The flavor is sweet forest-y with a hint of anise seed and a nice lightly skunky finish. Nice balanced stone. Dreamy but not locking.

geekymonkey, do you mind going to the dam and doing your reports, each and every time just beofre i do my visit. that way i can always have such an amazing insight into whats good and where always really appreciate and enjoy your write ups.

that OG Kush looks like its going on my list. for november, i almost never go into basjoe, and i dont think ive ever purchased from there, despite its constant good reviews. that og kush will change that im sure.

@ DrG and Chelsea- Thanks. Its funny, when I was heading back to the 'dam for the first time in awhile I found this place and the trip reports were so key to me finding good smokes that trip that I started reporting to pay it forward, and now I'm hooked. I do need to come up with a way to make some money to pay for more trips! (That's why I'm putting together some articles to shop around, and I'm thinking about a few other things, like maybe posters...)

I am going to be getting back this Dec/Jan, although if I somehow get divinely lucky we might make a quick bop up for the cc...it seems like such an epic party. I'd love to get to meet more of the people here, and it seems like most people come to town then.

I'm really wishing I had some Godzilla bud to smoke with my banana and peanut butter right now. It would be so tasty.


Betty Boop's Godzilla

Beautifully grown Bio bud, it smells like concord grape jelly. It tastes the same, the grape-iest tasting weed I've ever had. My head slowly drifted up towards the clouds as a dreamy strong high slowly took hold. Lovely and long lasting.

1e Hulp and Betty Boop have been getting lots of good reviews lately. Their products look nice, I need to check them out on my next. Godzilla sounds lovely, Tweede Kamer had Grape E10/g in 2009 and it had a great grapey tang. Great pics and reviews as always.

Me too!!! I really want to chill with you my stoner sister When's your next trip? I'm already starting to critically look at my budget with dreams of Basjoe's dancing in my head.

Yeah, it was because of the consistent advocacy for Betty Boop here that I finally checked them out. So glad I did. I will definitely be back. And, I'm a big 1eHulp advocate. It's my local shop when we stay at my favorite apartment. Good prices, good bud. (That Buddha Cheese- yum yum!)

During our crawl we stopped by Mellow Yellow for a buy and fly on our way to Media.

"I'm looking for a stoney weed, something indica dominant. I've smoked the sleeze and the blueberry before, and like them both, but really I'm just after whatever's good right now." (All that happy James weed had clearly made me a chatty monkey.)

The dealer pulled out the Sleeze, cracked the tub, shook his head and put it back. He then pulled out the blueberry, which looked like crappy mids, all little popcorn bud, and shook his head in disgust. "The Cheese is good," he said, pulling out a tub that finally held some pretty bud.

I leaned over for a sniff and a closer look, and was pleased by the assertive cheese aroma with a little funky musky dried blueberry undertone. I opted for a few grams. Mellow Yellow's Cheese (11e/g) had a nice happy strong stone, not super distinctive but with some pleasant body effects. Nice cheese flavor, with a little skunk and pine forest on the finish. Nice well grown bud, but very large farm commercial feeling, which I find isn't as much to my taste these days. Don't get me wrong, we smoked it all...I just wouldn't go out of my way for it, and I'd rather 1eHulp's Buddha Cheese for 1e cheaper.


De Graal's Amnesia Haze

The 20e bag of Amnesia that the dealer showed me at DeGraal had one huge sparkly bud in it (2.2g? maybe, not sure). When he opened the bag the smell sealed the deal. Beautiful clean tart grape candy nose with a light undercurrent of vanilla and sweet haze. Nice nice amnesia with a golden relaxed forgetful high. The real deal phenotype for me, not the racy limey one that was all over at the beginning of September.


A different Flower

I bought a few little bags of hash at De Graal as well, including the Gardela, which is a magnificent licorice tasting oily black hash that has a great soaring stoniness to it. We smoked the little 5e blob I bought in two joints during the T n T. When I went back for more on my way out it was all gone (grrrrr @Cisco) so I picked up a little bit of the Flower, which was a less-oily black hash. It was not very pliable, but warmed up fairly easily. The aroma was clean, minty, and slightly floral. Reminded me of the black Nepalese pollen hashes with a clear intense effect that was halfway between high and stoned. Very clean but peppery in the back of the throat.

Yeah, and the flower was only ho-hum to me. Honestly I wasn't overly impressed with their Pollen either. But I like the atmosphere there a lot, and the nice lattes and fresh mint tea.


That was so much fun at Media! Fun day all around. We smoked it up big time. The united nations of potheads. Hopefully we'll get to do it again sometime.

Thanks Cisco, for that isolator from Eindhoven. It was really great. Gapie and I used some of it when we got together for coffee at 1e Hulp on Wednesday morning. It went really nicely with Hugo's Cheese. Then my Mr. and I smoked the rest of it at Voyagers while we were playing chess on Thursday, in a huge joint of Bas Special. It had me flying for the walk down to Basjoe's. Great silvery intense visuals for me. Nice stuff.
