Yeah fair enough I jus thought it was quite knobish the fact people were mourning the loss of a well liked coffeeshop and owner (by some people) , they don't need the piss taking out them(although I do agrea some peeps are taking it a bit far James and Basjoe never vanished over night)

James I hope you kept the buck I gave you
more important I hope you got lots of euros for the business that you built. Enjoy your new adventure.

Quick, someone go hang out with HB until he accidentally spills the beans and come show some love to the rest of us who are far away.highlyblessed wrote:i know who brought it, but it aint for me to saycattales1960 wrote:who do you think bought it? I dont have a clue.i aint expecting much tho

I'll give it a chance under the new owners, check out the gear and the menu. If they inherit some of the business connections it will still be a worthwhile shop, but without James it can't still be my favorite place in the universe, as that really had more to do with him than anything else.
The big winner in all of this for me are Voyagers and 1e Hulp, who just got big upgrades in my rankings

It was on my list, but I didn't get to go this past weekend when I was in Amsterdam, just as well. I biked past it but was in a rush to get something to eat before the restaurants close. I was also a bit wary of the holy cow status it was getting on the forum.

I went to basjoe a few times over the years, nothing could live up to the hype some people here gave it though...gimmeshelter wrote: I was also a bit wary of the holy cow status it was getting on the forum.

Re: Basjoe
I'm hardly a hater and I certainly dont see what I've wrote as an 'attack'
if you can bothered to go back and see what I've written about any time here you'll see I've only ever posted positive reviews, the samaritans thing was a joke simply because of all the RIP's, I like most will certainly miss James, his big smile, his even bigger dreads and of course the fat grams he used to sell me but like I said elsewhere theres plenty of other great shops with great staff.

^^ can't see anyone accusing you of "attacking" anyone , and it's more of a general opinion on all your posts lately , you jus seem to be sniping rather than the helpfull and insightfull comments you used to post .
