The Cool, Eindhoven

ACD Page: The Cool

This is a little coffeeshop tucked away in a residential area (Barrierweg 229) of Woensel (Mensfort). It is easy to miss as the lettering on the front doesn't stick out, but it is next to the Barrier Cafe.

There is a doorman who was quite friendly.

They had quite a varied selection of weed and hash, tho because I was interested in the weed, I didn't take much notice of what was available in the hash list. From what I can remember the weed was northern lights, skunk, silver pearl, white widow and K2. They also sell ready rolled joints.

I have purchased both white widow & silver pearl there.. both 1.8g/15e.

Opening hours: fri/sat 10 am - midnight, sun-thurs 10 am - 11 pm.

I used to visit this place quite a bit when I lived in a small town on the outskirts of Eindhoven called best. Once I was working in a home for the elderly ripping out old carpets, me and a work friend nipped in at dinner time for a 10fl pure joint, then went back to work. Back in the day they used to have a small menu, but the stuff on it was always pretty good. They used to do a pure joint for 10 guilders (£3) I used to get them quite a lot as it always a had something nice in it. Haven't been here since the year 2000 though.

Just saw this thread and thought I'd like to share this story:

Popped in there just for a coffee like two years ago, was my second visit if
memory serves me right.
Got into an interesting chat with the budtender who later introduced hisself
as the owner of this place(was working due to his budtender being sick.)
Talked about anything and everything, mostly about the dutch coffeeshop scene though.
At this point he stated that he still got offered a lot of contaminated weed and he'd to
choose wisely(e.g. via microscope). Also was pretty proud of buying only non-contaminated
weed. Most of the shitty one was going to Belgium, Germany and the Uk.
Funny thing was he wasn't smoking grass or hashish and never had as 'It's not good for you'
(I appreciate honesty a lot).
Based on personal experiencies over the years in this so called 'scene' I always considered
coffeeshops as a business like every other and this was a welcoming example e.g. for those
kind of pals adding some unjustified kind of semi-romantic view concerning coffeeshops in general everytime they talk about it(probably
caused by their experiencies with 'dealers' in their cliques and the fact it's not tolerated
in their own country).
One would say that he can't stay in business with that kind of philosophy but I was told
this shop was founded in the middle of the 80ies by the father of the owner when they immigrated
from Turkey to the Netherlands.
See, not generalising but a lot of shops are what a lot of shops are: plain business(often
combined with poor skills at the service sector and strange attitudes probably caused by the awarness
of their role in this monopoly). No big deal really as long as no quality suffers(not there
to make friends but enjoying a pleasant atmosphere though).
On the other hand I'm sure that most shops with best gear/rare strains are more likely to be run by
semi-idealistic people/ (ex-)smokers putting some more effort, heart and all that into their work.

When I checked them out some months later I found a tiny and tidy shop mostly visited by the local
crowd(as far away from the centre). Friendly lady budtender offered about 5 strains of weed
and 3 of hash. Nothing special but their White Widow did the job nicely.

Again, don't hijack here, I posted something about the Wietpas here: https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... 48#p280548
