Solo trip Jan 5th

Post by BongHug82 »

Hello to all and hope everyone had a nice Christmas and NY.

I’m heading out for a few days tomorrow, having not visited since just before the Pandemic with my Dad. I had some trips booked during those weird times that were always cancelled and then I took custody of my son. After being just the weekend Dad for so many years things changed a lot and I’ve just never found the moment to get back, but here we are, it’s been bloody ages. A room at Voyagers would be the dream, but that ship has sailed it seems. Me and my Dad stayed in the twin room there last time and sitting by that window smoking fatties with him will always be one of my best memories. Staying in De Pijp this time around.

Another thing that’s changed a lot in that period are the coffeeshop menus! For quite a while now I’ve almost ditched getting high via combustion method and I pretty much only have dabs (bar the odd flower+hash bat once in a while) I brought a dab rig with me for the 2019 trips but back then it was coffeeshop canal side for extracts as it was more solvent based back then and rosin was harder to come by, especially in a coffeeshop. I’m seeing heaven now! Rosin everywhere and good quality static and bubble. Quite excited to say the least. Not made many plans and just going to go with the flow. Rijksmuseum always gets a visit and out to Zaandam for some legal project bits. Apart from that I’ll just be floating around photographing old stuff.

If anyone is about this week and wants to smoke up give me a shout 🤟

As long as I can get there mate I don’t care if I’m stuck there for a month 😆 I’m still signed off from my surgery and don’t go back to work till Feb so we’ll see what happens.

On way to the airport now and according to easyJet the flight is still scheduled 🥶 fingers crossed

Flight cancelled and no Amsterdam flights outgoing now till the 7th :(

£220 return for the eurotunnel so I’m jumping in the Honda and going. Eff you easyjet 😆 Anyone know some options for 24 hour parking? I’m sure there’s one out at Sloterdijk?

What’s the issue? Weather? The last time that happened to us was days before covid 😂 me and Mrs got an extra night (stuck at airport hotel though) while my brother, his mate and their Mrs all got an extra week !! Jammy sods 😂

How much were your flights? Thats a decent price for the eurotunnel 👌

I bottled it chaps. Set off for Folkestone. Knew I had to clip the M25 so didn’t want to book a shuttle till I got closer. Started feeling absolutely shit driving after hardly any sleep the night before and withered at the thought of dealing with arsehole French coppers or sitting in miles of traffic wanting to sleep. I must be getting old 🥴

Swallowed my pride, set the sat nav for the homies near Heathrow and went and got a fat pot of rosin 🫡

Rebooked flights for next Monday. We’ll try again

DazG, apparently the weather mate, but Schipol was clear from midday onwards and they can normally clear the runways like wizards there. They cancelled all of today’s and tomorrow’s flights to Amsterdam with easyJet. Weirdest part of it all is loads of people are still stranded both sides so you’d think they’d be taking advantage of every window. I don’t know mate.

Flights were £115 return. Shuttle is £149 one way or £220 return as they have a sale on right now. I’d definitely like to take the car one day though.

AVFC thank you buddy. Hope dies last they say 😆 We’ll try again dude.

I think they're trying to play up the weather aspect. It was nothing too severe or unexpected at this time of year.

Theyve been cutting back spending and didnt have the staff or equipment to deal with this slightly bad weather.

At least you’ll get there eventually bonghug 😊

The last time it happened to us was right before the first lockdown 😂 hopefully none of that again 😂😂

Can think of worse places to be stuck jolly, I know the reality is different - getting back to work and kids etc 😂
Keep the positive vibes 😎
