Place was busy, but had to stop in. Very nice people, bought a gram of Grey Mist, nice taste and high. Would have stayed longer if it wasn't so packed.

Very small place. Very American. Dealer was extremely friendly (British guy). Picked up a gram of Greyberry (smoking it now ;) ) some yellow cab and a gram of the grey mist crystals. Greyberry is good shit, flavorful, quite potent, but somehow reminds me of commercial Canadian weed. Go figure. Not overpowering, you can definitely get up and go on it....quite a sativa high, but not trippy really. Have only smoked bowls of it, though....very crystally, definitely not shaken.

Great coffeeshop in terms of overall atmosphere. Very friendly and helpful service, decent prices, fantastic quality smoke, and comfortable setting to sit and smoke. I bought a gram of the Grey Mist, which I have been reading a lot about, and a gram of the Grey Mist Crystals (€15). The crystals were simply amazing, and the bud was excellent too. I was highly encouraged to check this shop out, and when I did, I was thoroughly impressed, so I also highly recommend it!

We can't visit Amsterdam without visiting the Grey Area ( at least daily ).

Some of the best buds about but not always consistant.

Must recommend the Recon bred from their cup winning LA Confidential.
Very tasty indeed.

Not great for sticking to opening times but woth waiting for it.

Yesterday I popped over for my last legal bag before heading home...

The friendly guy who has been running the grey area for the past few days popped his head out and said he was running late and to go for a coffe at Amesia round the corner..This was at 11am

So I went round the corner to Amnesia and scored a few grams of Kushage and Morning glory...nothing really to write home about..just wanted to try a few THC seed strains.

It was a bit sad because we had been over quite a few times well into the day to find no lights on and chairs on tables..

The first bags we got (both 3.5g's) were Stella blue (he recomended it)and grey berry..Stella Blue had quite a few seeds in and was very disapointing the berry looked classy but had little taste or high and had obviously been pollinated

Recon however had a good taste and clear high but did not manage to get anymore after 31 dec as he was just shut :(

Visited Grey Area a couple of weeks before Christmas, first 2 days of my trip it was shut but managed to make it on my last day.

bought a grams of Recon, Grey Mist crystals and some Nepalese hash.

The weed and the Nepalese were both more than satisfactory but after hearing so much about the gmc I was rather dissapointed with them, they just didn't have the kick I was expecting and I'm glad that I didn't buy 5 grams like I was planning to, still this place gets a thumbs up from me.

Well after catching them on a day they were open,i dived in to grab another quality smoke, and as per usual the dealer(American lad, tall, glasses)was spot on,showing me a good selection of different bud.

Eventually decided on the Sharks Breath (3.5g-30 euro).......mmm

Cant praise this place enough...one of my top 3 favorites 8)

I was in there just before NY and tried their Stella Blue and Recon. SB was fine, but I thought the Recon was excellent. Full of trichomes - no shake on this bud - it smelt slightly orangey with a hazy taste. Top drawer, IMHO.

Got here on Sunday around mid-day and it was my first time in this coffeeshop. I had about 5 hours til my flight home.

I purchased the Sharks Breath and the J1 Haze.

The Sharks Breath didn't have a really nice taste but it did have the impact in the high. The J1 Haze tasted nice and skunky (reminds me of the Jack Herer I smoked the very first time in an Amsterdam coffeeshop) with a hazey exhale. High was nice also.
The gentleman behind the counter threw me a lighter for free when I wanted to buy one.
Had a talk to some people there who were also leaving the same day from Sweden.

Very small coffeeshop but the stuff I tried was very nice which makes up for the size of the place.

I'll give this coffeeshop an 8.5 out of 10.

I like it, just too tiny.

FYI, on his web site, Rick Steves reports on a visit to the Grey Area

Grey Mist Yikes!

The Grey Mist Crystal is simply the best. Nothing compares or comes close that I have tried. Be warned it can be a dizzy ride. Easy to over do. Too much will leave you drunk and reeling. Still WOW!

This place is the best IMHO...i have been going to the dam annually for a few years now...i have always thought of GA as the best in town...from the price (value), to the service, and the quality...yes it is small...but i dont rate the best of amsterdam by square-footage...The entire menu is worth trying...a must for any canna-seur...see you there!
it is what it is supposed to be...

Decent coffeeshop, I had read a couple of reviews they they hated the English but never found that to be true (most likely the English were being twats). Johns a nice friendly chap who always willing to give advice. Although a couple of times the weed not lived up to its billing (grey mist crystals). Still a good shop though. :D
