Neldo I couldn't tell you the size of the grows but all the ones that have been busted by me were caught via stolen electric and tbh with you even if I was going huge scale I'd still find a cover and pay for the electric I used, I dont like theft (I've been victim of a burglary) in any shape or form.

Busted by you? Are you trying to tell us something, Boner?Boner wrote:Neldo I couldn't tell you the size of the grows but all the ones that have been busted by me were caught via stolen electric and tbh with you even if I was going huge scale I'd still find a cover and pay for the electric I used, I dont like theft (I've been victim of a burglary) in any shape or form.
Are you honestly trying to compare you being burgled to somebody stealing electricity to grow weed?
I'm not a fan of theft (not many are I would imagine), but ermmm... energy companies have been bleeding the world dry since day dot dude. They don't care about robbing you blind, you have too much compassion... I have none when it comes to energy companies. The energy rises and lack of funding for old people will kill the elderly this year - it's a fact that nobody seems to be doing anything about.
The biggest energy company in the UK is partially French owned. In their own country they are capped and cannot go above a certain price, so they come over here and rape those who can't afford it and where the prices can go up & up & up.... and you have ill feeling about screwing them over!? Fair doos, but it's not me...

My point exactly.echc1 wrote:.but also believe in karma...as the biggest thieves are the govts and the energy companies...
Boner, I'm 99% behind what you're saying... but there's a couple holes in it I can't get my head around. I believe in karma too and that's pretty much what taking from them is. Karma manifests itself through the actions of others, we're all part of the same cosmos. They take & take & take, the lives of our elderly citizens mean sweet FA when it comes to how much money they can make - been reading alot lately about exactly how hard this winter is going to hit people, the elderly will die & many families will be given the completely disgusting option "eat or heat".
Taking from them is, imo, the short, sharp hand of karma, right in the coupon!! You also speak about paying for electricity you use, in light of the subject we're discussing (large grows) I think that's a bit of a wayward comment, it's not like they have the option of just paying the bill & getting on about their business
If you think it's ok to be paying over the odds for a bit of electric, put yourself in somebody's shoes who can't afford it, not through their own squandering of money, through the energy company's sheer and utter greed (obviously not helped by the situation in our country where the public is open to abuse by monopolies but the companies are the ones taking advantage of people via this situation).
Just going on that statement alone (disregarding the rest of the thread) it sounds as though you'd be happy enough to let them rape the pensions of the elderly, let them die of hypothermia 'cause they were hungry instead. I should point out I don't think that's the case, but it kinda reads that way.
There should be subsidies in place for elderly & the poor. There should be caps on how much piss they can actually take. You can't deny that taking from them to grow a beneficial herb is (in one way at least) karma.

The problem about stealing from the power companies is they know it happens and the rest of us that pay our way have to cover for it the same with car insurance, mine keeps going up every year yet I haven't made a claim in over 10 years this is down to inflation and the fact theres so many uninsured drivers on the road.
I agree the elderly should have help they are after all the backbone of the country, the same with people (who work) on low incomes should have help.

I hate the power/utility companies as much as the next guy, but I think you're wrong here. It's not up to you to decide what is and isn't Karma. If you steal from them then you are a thief, irrespective of what they have done. If you believe in Karma, then you shouldn't steal.Neldo wrote:You can't deny that taking from them to grow a beneficial herb is (in one way at least) karma.
Then again, what do I know?

Hoop, I'm not deciding what is and what isn't karma, what I'm saying is you cannot deny the karma-like property of robbing a robber. Y'see what I mean? I'm not saying you should go out of your way to try to administer karma, I'm saying that them having their pockets riffled is part & course of them doing it to everybody else. What goes around, comes around. Pretty much the basis of Karma, innit?
Boner, point taken there actually man, but the rises are nothing to do with people stealing leccy, it's through greed, energy prices have not risen anywhere near as steeply in any other country, just ours.
Anybody frowning upon the practice of electricity thieves should probably stop buying weed as most of the shit you'll buy in this country that's grown here will likely have been grown with stolen leccy
you can't say something is a shocking practice but support it by throwing cash at it...

Yes, but it hardly seems appropriate to start an entirely new thread for something that's a side point of cheap lighting.murphyscafe wrote:wasnt this a topic about cheap lights????
Threads are exactly that, a thread of conversation, while it's not exactly based on the original thread title, conversation often flows in a slightly different direction, with it's roots in the original title.

Crazy
not crazy at all. Its a discussion! Thats what a forum is for, and the conversation becomes far more interesting when peoples's views collide...
