Barney's owner (Derry) is also the owner of Amnesia, so you might expect to find the same weeds at both places. I dont go to Barney's and dont make it up to Amnesia very often, so I couldnt say for sure if the quality of weed or menu is the same at both shops. Peace n Love.DaveS wrote:then Barneys, for me at least, doesn't really do it anymore. It's become way too pricey for the food, and I personally prefer the vibe of De Kuil (420) or Amnesia - plus the weed's better.

Hiya Puffin!
To be honest, I haven't been into Barneys on either of my last two visits, and wasn't impressed by the prices and food on the visit before that, which is a shame because I used to come here all the time. Things change.
Amnesia was my second favourite hangout before the re-furb, which was when I read that Derry now had a hand in the shop. I still like Amnesia, although the vibe is a little different to how it used to be. I'll still continue coming here, unless things change again.. Basjoe's also struck me as having a nice little vibe going on as well, which I shall definitely explore further.
Fortunately, the majority of contributors here are able to express their views in a way that is more likely to make me want to try out these little places I have never had the pleasure of visiting, rather than just bluntly decrying them in favour of less-than-exciting venues...
As far as I'm aware, the menus are still different - looking at FlyByNite's link here http://www.black-arts.org/~reatta/menus.html - so you can still get quite a nice varied selection at both of Derry's places...
Cheers!

I only went to barneys once while i was in amsterdam....which was on the last night of my trip.
I bought 1g of red dragon and it was both great weed and overpriced. its hard to work out if it's better to buy a 2-3g of regular bubblegum/blueberry or 1g of red dragon
I find thats its better to go to a barneys/dampkring/420 to get your REALLY strong weed @ €12-14 and then go to a smaller (but better) coffee shop like mellow yellow, basjoes and buy 2-3g of blueberry @ €7 then mix that shit up. you get more weed for your money plus you still get a nice high.
I remember at one point i had 10 different types of weed and i couldnt remember where i bought most of it or what i had even paid for it...thats what holidays are for....lol

service took a long time despite me being the only person at the counter, drinks are pricey compared to some places, didnt like the interior much, the outside would be nice - the roadworks were still up when i went in october though. Got some white widow - decent but nothing special.
felt slightly let down after the great reviews i read on here

Awesome shop, cool atmosphere & budtender, have been going in almost everyday since moving to the dam. Prefer their hash to their bud though, prefer going up a hundred meters and score some weed at green place first. Then back here for some terminator, morrocan soles, temple balls.... But if you want gear under 12€/gram, better here than GP then. Got a couple nice stuff at around 7 - 8/g.
Def a top 4!
