It must suck to lose a raw talent like Pineda. One way to look at though is a pitcher is only out there every 5 days. You have seen with Felix ( and i with Halladay) that one elite starting pitcher isnt going to elevate a team or take them to the next level so to speak.

Montero should end up being the catcher of the future. I hope he works out for you guys and you enjoy watching him. If his 69 at-bats last year is a sign of things to come, then your lineup is much better. Not really sure what the yankees plans at catcher now are but hey thats there problem.

they are saying montero is a cino(catcher in name only). most scouts saying he will never be a career catcher and to look for him to play dh,1b or left field. we'll see.

ya definetly a strange choice when you consider that they already have Miguel Cabrera. I know he played 3rd with the Marlins but that was before his issues with being overweight. I can see why it works this year with Victor Marinez tearing his ACL so Cabrera could play alot of DH. After this year though who knows.

i dont see the tigers getting rid of cabrerra. overweight or not dude is still a complete hitter....320 35-40 hr and 120 rbi's. and hes a rightey.hes a better hitter overall than prince imo. id like to see a trade with atlanta for heyward but thats not gonna happen. what the mariners need as i have said all along is to get an ESTABLISHED hitter(votto?). someone you already know what your going to get.but who? another thing i have been wondering is why the hell are we not in for cespedes now? he will come "cheap'(i bet 4-5 years 40-55 mill) and they say hes a legit 5 tool player. yea i know theres the usual worries about Caribbean players...forged birth certificates that say they are 25 when in reality they are 30 but you gotta take chances.

Well Prince coming here makes huge sense.. Get on a winner who wants you and is willing to pay.. Also people seem to forget he spent alot of time here as a kid when his father Cecil(their relationship with standing) played for us.. Thanks for him Toronto .. Seattle can have Victor after the surgery he just had and still has to have goodluck to him on that..And Cabrera is more than servicable to play 3rd.. Defensively weaker than Inge but I would trade that and whatever else for his pure power and constant production.. It sucks for most teams not to have All-Stars at the corners.. And dont sleep on Jim Leylands ability to work this line-up.. Compare Detroit to any other American league team up and down the batting order and I havent EVEN started on my pitching staff!!!! All I have to say is Verlander( Cy young and Mvp)I know Detroit is a great knock around(and as Cantona has pointed out before I have also knocked at times) but it is still my hometown.. And beyond just the Tigers being good I am sure he would want to play in an AMAZING sports town(We do win Championships in all sports..except for my beloved lions-I wont dredge up the 50's(in which we were champs)..

one of my goals for this season...make it to a few away games. first and fore most a game or 2 at at&t park to see the giants(my nl team)

maybe an a's or dodgers game..or dbacks..or rockies. maybe extend to the central or eastern leagues in the 2013 season.
