I sort of hope that James took the cup with him....meant something to him and he was a LARGE part of why Basjoes won the cup.

Wow, crushing news  ...I really feel for those of you with years of history in the shop! James, nothing but best wishes on your future! I am now even more thankful that I made my first trip to 'dam when I did! Thanks for the memories and great times! You will be missed.

Fuck

I'm happy for James, and sad I missed a chance for a final goodbye. I wish him only the best, and hope we cross paths again in the future.

Mrs TC said it best, without James, there is no Basjoe.

Well that explains something.

Went in there on Saturday and bought something from this short haired fuck behind the counter for 15. Gave him a 50 and my change was 15. WTF? His excuse was that his mind wandered and he confused my change for what I paid him. James was still there and that was the only reason I did not pull his scrawny ass into my fist.

actually I heard he was selling it not long after his brother died. I was just taken by surprise that we didnt know when it sold.

Although Basjoe could never be the same without James, I am curious to see if the "business connections" were passed along. we'll know quick enough based on the menu.

I'm curious too- please, everyone, keep us updated. Also, if you happen to recognize some of it turning up elsewhere. I imagine it will find an outlet somewhere...

I'm with you- I knew he had had plans to sell it, but with the boys around I had just sort of assumed those plans had changed. I suspect keeping the sale quiet was in the best interest of the deal.

Marco, what did you buy? How was it?

I agree with ES, that we should try, in grand Amsterdam style, to throw more of a wake than a funeral. In that spirit, I'm going to share some stories on my last travelogue. Feel free to come by and add your own :) https://www.coffeeshopdirect.com/forum/viewt ... &start=165

Keep rolling, my party peoples!

It's nice to have had a small taste of original formula before things changed. Have some nice memories of an unexpected birthday t&t to savor. Glad I got my fist bumps in when I did. May your happy thoughts flicker on like the warm red table lights.

I'm in the camp that as cool as james and leo were, basjoe wasnt one of my 'must go places', I dont think think ive even been in for a few years, everyone look on the brightside the new basjoe (or wotever they choose to name it) could be even better than it was, with a brand new formula! could be anothee voyagers!
