This site is amazing, although I’ve noticed there’s not so much activity these days
It's true that there's not much activity on these forums these days but the site as a whole is still growing. Over 14 million visits in 2025 - the most in a year in its history since 1998. Maintaining the forums on the side is not too onerous, except when it gets botted to death, so I keep them going anyway.
The menus site is still quite active too. That had about 2.7 million visits last year and new menus arrive all the time.
Which map were you struggling with? Was it the Google mega map? That has a lot of data in it so I can imagine some devices having trouble.

That’s some impressive numbers, it’s a grand job you’re doing mate, keeping on top of it all, huge thanks
Yeah the larger map of Amsterdam, but I’m sure the issue is with my iPad and ever since putting google maps app on, as I say, works on my phone so all good, I have it when I’m there

I’ll keep posting menus too
Whatever happened to the who’s in town section? That was another great part of the site, how long ago was that ? And did someone used to arrange talk an toke sessions? I have hazy memories

Keep up the good work mate, maybe see you over there one day and have an old fashioned talk n toke

Not sure if you changed something Lemming, but the large Amsterdam map has started working on my iPad now

made more progress with the extractions now. and i have updated the site with the latest set of extractions.
again still not 100%, but i also made a data editor were i can load the dataset and view each shops extracted data next to the menu image so i can quickly compare prices. while this was tedious for the initial run, its usually only 2or 3 menu updates per week so a lot quicker to manage. also the data extraction will also check if the menu has already been extracted and update to new menu data as it arrives.
i just need some testing on the site to see how well it works and if its worth the work or not.
can i make a post about this with the website link, or can i send you the link first and maybe you can send it to a few people to give the site a whirl.?

Another step forward recently. Originally the latest menu from FBN's site was linked to the latest incarnation of the shop. Now the links in both directions should be correct. This applies to the strains data too.
Next step is the reviews, both the emailed ones and the ones in the Coffeeshop Reviews forum. They all need to be divided across the incarnations, at least as much as possible.
Meanwhile, I've now heard from at least 3 different people trying to make something like the strains database using AI. So far nothing has emerged as far as I know.
