Thanks Paco, given me another reason not to got to the Dampkring again. Especially when you get just as good weed and all the members of staff I ran into we really cool at the Tweede Kamer not too far away.

With service like that, they really are in danger of being taken over by commercialism as they wont be getting regulars back.

You are right Valo.Last year I had a very nice Dealer,I saw him at the Cannabis Cup presenting his Weed (in a Video). He was the best Dealer of Damkring. He was helpful in all ways and he was very friendly too,but the last time I really get pissed with the dealer.

first place I visited on my trip, the dealer was SUPER nice and very helpful, let me smell and actually touch the nugs before I purchased, cool place they serve alcahol and if your'e ok with the atmosphere of a tgi friday's while you're taking rips or puffing on your joint then it's a great place

I went back several times over my trip and always had a great time, they also have a volcano on the bar where they sell weed, if you ask for it, I used it for hours and just sat at the weed bar chatting with people and watching people come buy, it was a great experience

this place get's 5 stars from me

This is the only coffee shop I have been to. (sadly i was in Ams for less than 24 hours) They were fantastic! The dealer was patient and a bit amused with my behavior - being from the repressive usa... I was giddy. On the Sunday night I was there it was crowded but the girl behind the bar directed me to a newly opened table which made my visit even better.

Returned the next day to burn another J before catching my train to Paris. Will return in April 06 (2 weeks!!) and Dampkring will be one of the first stops!!!

Dampkring is a must visit in my opinion - if you could only make it to one Coffeeshop this would be a great choice. The decor is worth a visit alone but the smoking menu gets my top marks. The bar staff were very friendly and the guys at the back counter were some of nicest fellows I met all week.
Both times we visited in the late afternoon and although it was busy there was still a place to fit. Most of the crowd was 40ish couples, reliving the good old days.
We were thoroughly entertained by an American couple who forgot what it was like to smoke. He was so wasted he could barely lift his arms and she gets the munchies. (A gal who looked like she knew a good dessert when she saw it) she ties into the Spacecake without a clue of what it was. Once she did find out (half way through her second one!) she bursts into uncontrollable laughter for ten minutes. Once she comes back, she says "Really?" and off she goes again for another ten minutes.
Tried the Oceans 12 Haze the first time - excellent choice which was really bright and happy. Second time a few grams of AK-47 which was also top notch - great sedative effect. (I think it was the cat's favorite.)
To visit Amsterdam and miss Dampkring would be a real pity in my opinion. Great place and tops in my books.

was in dampkring yesterday. got there at 1.30pm and i had to wait for a seat. i can see what people mean about the dealer though,, he was fine with me but i knew i wanted to try nyc diesel after reading coms on the main site so i was quick but he was proper going mad at some people who were taking their time reading the menu... it comes in at 2nd out of the 4 shops i went to!.... oh and they realy are milking that oceans 12 thing!

I agree with the Oceans 12 thing. Although I did like the coffeeshop overall. The decor was unusual, the service was a bit slow, and getting a seat was murder!!

But I must say that my favourite bit of this place was meeting the Cat 'Bowie'. He is very cool!! 8)

I like this place due to its extensive menu of hash and grass.
Always a good vibe with happy friendly staff, the smokeables are mixed in price but are always good quality

Defffo go back here and do many times when i visit ams

I visted Dampkring in April, it was my first time in the 'Dam, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. While we were there we visited one of the Bulldog shops and in my opinion it didn't come close to the relaxed atmosphere in Dampkring. I really loved the White Widow and the many cups of coffee and went there each day over the three days I had.

In fact I'm going back for a weekend tomorrow (with the wife).

Cannot wait.

Been quite a few times. Have a great choice of weed but I must admit I do prefer the sister coffeeshop 'tweede kamer' because like so many others I've been subjected/witnessed to a rude dealer. I know its busy & I know people can get on your nerves but bloody hell, you work with weed. Chill out dude.

On ocasion i've experienced an unfriendly/rude dealer at De Dampkring and De Tweede Kammer but i think this has to be put down to the fact that they are usually stupidly busy. Give them a break.

On my recent visit they were friendly and helpful despite having to deal with their counter being surrounded 10 people deep.

Great shop.. good buds.... superb hash.

Usually to busy to get a seat though.

Bought a few grams of different Rifman hashes when I was in the dampkring, very nice taste and effects. The 20E a gram moonshine I bought however was not as good and had a very harsh taste.

used to go there often but after the ocean 12 thing started looking elsewhere - also they have those hard wooden chairs...
probably still a good place to shop and go but not to stay.
