After a long walk we were quite dissapointed to have been treated quite rudely by the dealer/barman. Only one person behind the bar who nearly fell over when we ordered coffee, yes, just coffee... No, no Mary Jane.
It's a shame because the place looked nice from the outside, especially with the graphics. Unfortunately, we wont be making the long walk on the next visit.

anyone know if the blueberry or white melon is still good and a fair price??? all the recent posts seem to be people not buying weed...but if its still good iw ill stop in to pick up but definately wont be staying.
went in there in january one evening and didnt feel welcome at all either, big group of guys in there by the door and as soon as we walked in the place went quiet, they all then started talkin ( in what sounded like arabic..i used to live in saudi arabia so can pick up the odd word, like hello! :p) and it just made me feel really uncomfortable as it was obvious we were the topic of conversation, the dealer wasnt much friendlier so we didnt stay after we got our weed.
pretty good weed though

Noon keeps getting positive comments on it's weed and negative comments on the clientelle & staff... I guess because (for me) it's out on it's own and not that central that they have more locals in there and they have the front to expect you to buy weed, why else would one go to a coffeeshop... I know the general rule is that you can smoke your own in most places but if you look at Noon as a profit making business why should they have loituring tourists not buying weed in there? if thier message gets around that it's a buy and go place for everybody except the locals... (thier message is the vibe that poeple are reporting to have felt) then they'll be the financial winners in the long run...? I personally prefer a bit of service to go with my smoke, kinda adds to the whole experience... I see both sides tho.
Do you think that Noon are trying to make poeple feel unwelcome so they buy and go...? is that a good marketing technique? does it work...? big deals = more sale = more profit... all because the word is that they weed is good but the service is shit so we all just buy and go...?
Blah, blah...

Excuse me for my bluntness but fuck The Noon just goto Mellow Yellow (once the new metro line is in it'll be a prime shop mark my words) they have exactly the same menu as The Noon and each time I've been (3 or 4 times) the staff have been excellent!Rezin_8_ed wrote:Noon keeps getting positive comments on it's weed and negative comments on the clientelle & staff... The weed at the 2 shops is the same mate, I've been to The Noon a couple of times and yes both times I was treated like I didn't belong but the staff at Mellow Yellow have treated me excellently each time I've been.Rezin_8_ed wrote:Boner, are you saying that the treck out to The Noon aint worth it... there weed aint THAT good?... going to look up Mellow YellowBoner wrote:fuck The Noon just goto Mellow Yellow

Mellow Yellow was the first place I heard of that insisted visitors buy grass and not just a drink. That was many years ago.
Since then I’ve heard occasional stories of other places making the same demand (e.g. Kadinsky and Noon) and more reports about Mellow Yellow. I’m not sure if the owner of Mellow Yellow took over the Noon or the other way around but it’s only since they became linked that I’ve heard about this practice in the Noon.
I’ve never been in Mellow Yellow and it’s a while since I’ve been to the Noon so I’m only passing on what’s been said to me.

The guy that owns The Noon (I think his name is Robert) took over Mellow Yellow, I arranged to meet some friends there over Xmas and I'm pretty sure that they didn't have to buy any weed.Lemming wrote:Mellow Yellow was the first place I heard of that insisted visitors buy grass and not just a drink. I was a steady customer of the Noon from 2001 to 2005. By that I mean that I went there every three or four months and spent at least €113 euros each time. I always got the 5 grams of blueberry ice hash for €113 and sometimes the €25 Blueberry deal also. I noticed that the place had a larger and shadier crowd of locals in the last year I went. I never had a real problem - it was just that the vibe had changed. It's a little strange when you are ordering your hash to feel that your purchase is being observed by people other than the person you are buying from. As the hash seemed not as good the last couple of times compared to all the other times I had bought it, I just started checking out other shops - so many great ones and so many different things to try.
I will never go to either the Noon nor Mellow Yellow nor any other shop that won't let people just buy a coffee. They are called coffeeshops, after all. Selling a drink is business too.

On my last stay we had Noon and Mellow Yellow at either ends of the street our apartment was on.
I didnt find anything wrong with Noon, other than the fucking ahhem the locals there were just indifferent , the dealer tried to upsell the quantity and the variety of the weed we bought. I had no problem at all with that. Told him if it was good we'd be back for more, it was and we were. But just for a grab and go.
Mellow Yellow, was a better place to relax, bright, airy good efficient service. Didnt realise at the time it was part of the same 'chain' of coffee shops. My mate remarked it had a very simular menu to Noon, other than a few of the smokes had either 'Mellow' or 'Yellow' worked into their name. We went there about 6 times but only bought weed on the first visit. Might have been a case where once they know your face and you've spent money there you're ok.
Dont know anything about the Metro but trams 16, 24 and 25 stop almost right outside Mellow Yellow and its worth a visit.

The Noon's problem, according to the extraordinarily friendly budtender Mahmoud, is that it briefly got Americanized. An American bought the place and owned it a couple years, totally screwed the place all to hell. He sold it a couple years ago and The Noon has struggled to regain its reputation footing.
Eighty percent of sales here are the Blueberry weed. Obviously, you must try. We did, three times (15g), and never were disappointed.
