Re: The Plug (formerly Utopia)
Lol, yeah ok, and that argument is, and always has been, a one-way trip to being ripped off in Amsterdam. How do you know the Greenhouse's xxx isn't worth €5 more than everywhere else until you've tried it, etc? The issue isn't whether it's nice or not, I'm sure it is or they really would have some bare-faced cheek, the issue is normalising a pricing structure that is, clearly, unjustifiable. Let alone them acting like they have plenty of "normal" priced strains available when my own experience the other day was similar to others recently, they had nothing or total scraps of what I asked for and was immediately pushed towards stuff more than twice the price.
Having a problem with an exploitative business practice is not being a cheapskate, it's giving a crap about what it does to the market and everybody else who enjoys the coffeeshop scene whatever their budget, not just oneself.

No, it's not.RoMoney wrote: Mon 17th Sep 2018 08:57 pm More Cali denial. It's probably the only thing more annoying than the Cali hype![]()
So you're basically saying that refusing to pay €25+ for a gram of weed makes someone a cheapskate. Seriously?RoMoney wrote: Mon 17th Sep 2018 08:57 pm Try the stuff for once you bunch of cheap skates and at least know what you're fucking moaning about. Marok21 had a very balanced view on the whole thing I thought, and guess what??? Yes, he has ACTUALLY tried the stuff.
And one has to be ripped off to have an opinion about it? Again, seriously?
It's pretty much like saying that since I haven't been in a concentration camp I can't state that nazism is a bad thing.
But probably it's just me being a cheapskate

Re: The Plug (formerly Utopia)
The Nazi comparison is a little strange. They documented their beliefs, I would not have had to get to the Gulags to realise they were not good people. Also I'm a bit concerned for you that you are drawing comparisons between one of greatest evils of the 20th Century and overpriced weed.Weed-o wrote: Tue 18th Sep 2018 07:11 amNo, it's not.RoMoney wrote: Mon 17th Sep 2018 08:57 pm More Cali denial. Anyway, whether you are a cheapskate, very principled or just plain broke, until you've tried it you're not informed enough to say that it is bad value.

This, I agree they are trying to do. As I said before, the old ceiling of 18/g for GSC in Barneys has been raised considerably with the Cali introduction. I'm just amazed at the amount of outraged people who have never actually tried the stuff.Not_the_monk wrote: Tue 18th Sep 2018 03:38 am the issue is normalising a pricing structure that is, clearly, unjustifiable

Dude, the nazi thing was just an hyperbole (http://examples.yourdictionary.com/exam ... boles.html), but I appreciate your concern.
Anyway, I AM informed enough to say it's bad value.

If you keep saying it, it MUST be true. The fact you think you're informed is quite amusing.Weed-o wrote: Tue 18th Sep 2018 08:21 am![]()

im informed enough to say its bad value, yes theres a nice taste to it, yes its nice bud structure, but its also grown with chemicals that wouldnt be used in food grown in the same town. not fit for human consumption.RoMoney wrote: Tue 18th Sep 2018 08:43 amIf you keep saying it, it MUST be true. ....and low and behold as an informed poster you have a more balanced view, similar to Marok21. i dont like the way its been implied that its fake, im fairly sure all of the cali bits that ive tried are indeed cali (the postmarks on the packaging we get off the postman are the giveaway for me) it is still overpriced tho.RoMoney wrote: Tue 18th Sep 2018 09:38 am....and low and behold as an informed poster you have a more balanced view, similar to Marok21. Barcelona easily. Though I think the European grown is on the decline on both, and barring that from what I've seen Amsterdam has a much more extensive Cali flowers selection, whereas Barcelona has vape-carts and extracts so if that's what we're comparing still nod to BCN.Kermit wrote: Tue 18th Sep 2018 11:57 am Out of interest which Plug do you guys who have been to both prefer? Re: The Plug (formerly Utopia)
As someone who has tried it, I say at coffeeshops it's certainly overpriced. What I source it for, similar to top-shelf (local grown) prices in shops, it's reasonable but sometimes still more than I'd like to be paying for any weed, but don't know if I'd really call it overpriced, considering the alternative at said price (or less) is just 9/10 times not as good.

Sad to say Weed-o, but refering to Godwin's Law, you are per definition wrong in this discussion...Weed-o wrote: Tue 18th Sep 2018 08:21 am![]()

Re: The Plug (formerly Utopia)
Nobody never mention what strain they tried, it's just cali.
I tried many states weed like mimosa, gelato or even ghost train haze from rare dankness in colorado, it's
good weed but when you had numerous strains over decades you know that it's all hype.
Having a sealed bag labeled from a shop in the states and buying "Cali" from a coffeshop in amsterdam is a total different thing. If you really think that what the plug sell 35€ comes from us your just naive.

Nah I see reasoning behind your skepticism but I fully trust that 90%+ of what the Plug markets (for all their faults) Cali import is rightfully labeled as such, the crews they work directly with (Cali Connected) definitely are and they wouldn't put their name if affiliation with something that wasn't.WLow wrote: Tue 18th Sep 2018 05:05 pm Nobody never mention what strain they tried, it's just cali.![]()
