In ClubMedia the condition for entry is you have to buy at the counter in the foyer before being allowed into the inner sanctum, as it were. There are a few other places like this mainly in other cities like Utrecht, for example. I think it is a dumb policy. After being told I had to buy, I simply said 'see ya' and went to Katsu who took a totally different 'welcoming' approach. It works. The place was packed and Club Media was empty.

I can understand your point but you missed something, media's weed is the best in town and of you didn't like voyagers because of the "dirtiness", media is one of the comfiest CS ever.

Thanks for the info. I'll give it another try when I'm next in the Dam.

Love this shop - its the perfect place to spend a lazy afternoon.
Champagne haze was great last week - top smoke as always.

Sounds like a nice place to be. Will try it for sure.
Anyone knows what's the noise level in "Club Media"? Working/Reading possible?

I've been going to both CM and Katsu for several years and have exactly opposite the experience you had. Club Media is very welcoming and nice shop although you definatley do have a point about having to buy although I've never been told I had to buy before going in maybe because I always do buy anyway.
CM has good weed for a great value.
Katsu on the other hand has one of the most sour BT's there is (if you've seen her you know who I'm talking about) she so obviously doesn't care for tourists, but they do sometimes have great bud usually written on a small board in the shop as specials I had Lavender X LA Con that was real nice for 9e a gram.

I don't think she has ever cracked a smile
She is the owner, no?

Marduk, noise level is ok for either, such a nice chill shop, usually acceptable tunes on or something on the big tv.
Me,i like the door 'policy' (if there is one),keeps it quiet,i always buy anyway as find the weed here lovely, been coming here for years, usually not many folk sitting but countless locals buying n flying, the reason years ago i realised i was onto a winner, easily my favourite shop, the non smoking wife loves it too as shes got OCD and its spotless so she lets me sit for hours for a change :)

Nice friendly italian girl serving up some Amnesia haze at a bargain 10 euro yesterday. Very nice place and proper chill shop. Dodgy music though - ``All That she wants, is Another Baby``, with the budtender singing along, had me leaving straight away.

Top notch shop though - only 20 mins walk from Dam square, away from all the kid tourists with cheaper better quality bud. Nice.

Oh yeah, saw the manager from Utopia buying her weed here so it must be of better quality than what they have at Utopia!

I want to take exception to the conclusion you have drawn there on so many levels-
aside from the fact that we have been fans of Club Media for many years, how else are we to keep an eye on the competition if we don't do the rounds and sample the menus occasionally?

Many more points could be made, but that would be talking too much of the back door business and this is not the place for that.

There`s no competition! Many more points could be made? Sorry to have seemingly unintentionally offended you.
Good luck with your competition. P.S Utopia is a cool place and Mauro is a nice guy.

@ Lazer- I'm striving not to get all butthurt about it mate :) All I'm saying is that to conclude that Media has better product just from the fact that Ingi is a regular customer there does not take into account many other reasons why she chooses to go there.

And when I talk about competition, I am not getting all capitalist about it, but we are well aware that there are only a handful of shops in town that have the consistently high quality menus that we aim to have, and it's really worth our while to see the new strains that are coming to town and how the people who are doing it right are doing things.

Hope that explains my apparent humpiness, wish the internet was better at conveying tone! :)

Glad you like the new guy, I'm hoping both the new guys starting with us are going to work out well.

Props for admirable restraint in the face of undiplomatic internet tittery ! Ill be in for my usual 5 grams in a week or two.
