The place is nice but really could use a bit more ladies in the bar area. Almost every time I go, it feels like a meeting of the local Moroccan Men's League.

This place is on my list once again. I like the atmosphere - pretty mellow. Never been to Coffeeshop 96, but it's right down the street so might try that place while I'm out that way.

I don't know... I guess I was expecting more. It's a legendary shop with a great hasj menu but I never knew it when it was in one piece and, after a tuck tuck trip out (plus a bit of a walk), it was a bit of a let-down. We FINALLY arrive and hit the new coffeeshop across the street; it's small, crowded but a varied and inexpensive menu. We purchase our wares and head across the street to the legendary original location bar only to be, well, horrified by the fish-bowl sized smoking area. It was maybe 20' x 20' and packed! No outside window and the large interior fish-bowl window made it look rather pathetic, like hippies on display at a zoo! The rest of the bar, the non-smoking portion, was awesome but were hoping for more of a Barney's Lounge experience but alas it was not to be. We rolled up one to go and jetted. Worth a visit if you're already near by I guess but I wouldn't seek it out to tell you the truth.

Ja, its the coffeeshop with the widest crappy hash selection of the whole Amsterdam.
Been there plenty of times, tried several of their hashes. Never been happy with my purchase. Last gear I tried was the Super Afghan Pollen a few days ago, for 10 EUR x g. Waste of money, awful taste and headache. I still don't know why I keep giving this place a second chance but now I tried half of the hash menu and I can only suggest you to walk 10min more and go to Millennium for good Moroccan hash, nice deals on 5g. For Indian hash you will have to pay 14EUR x g and ask Nepal Pollen at Boerejongens.
If you get good hash at Kashmir Lounge, you've just been in a very lucky day.
peace

Good to know deplana

The biggest menu is not always the best. Have you tried the Kashmir Lounge special 18E? Or the Jelly Ice 18E?

Hiya or Diamond. Check them both and see which you prefer. Both really good. The 5g deals are 35 and 40 EUR.

I visited Kashmir Lounge yesterday and bought:
Jelly Ice - 25€/g
Kashmir Ice 20€/g
Turkse 9€/g
Turkse was horribly dry and hard. Not brittle; hard. It took me 10-15 mins to mix out that gram for my joint! I did get high, though. Taste was ok. The hash did not bubble at all; I would not have smoked this shit if I bought it anywhere else than Amsterdam. Would not buy again.
The morrocan ice on the other hand was incredible. It really fluffed up and bubbled like mad when heated. It became almost like liquid glass before quickly turning hard and brittle again as it lost the heat. The Jelly ice is somewhat similar to the morrcan in quality but much softer like some afghanis and most temple balls.
All in all, as was my impression with all coffee shops in the 'Dam, you most likely wont get amazing hash for 5-10€. Most of the hash on Kashmir Lounges menu card is in this price area and should, imo, not be bought. I really did enjoy their more expensive resins, though. But stay away from their cheaper stuff; it really is shit.
Oh - a friend bought their "warme oertjes" which was a nice morrocan hash much like what we have a lot of in Denmark.
As for the coffeeshop, I really liked the layout of the main smoking area, which was seperate from the coffeeshop. The toilets were however locked, and I didnt feel like asking for the key. I mean, that's like asking permission to have a poop. I will visit the shop again though, if not only for the awesome morrocan style layout.

I have been to Kashmir lounge twice this year so far and will be going back for an evening beer and smoke in September.
In May I asked the budtender for a blonde maroc and he duely recomended me one, I bought two grams of it. Of course we were stationed in the bar not the coffeeshop so crossed the road and proceeded to put most of it in on of the large hooker pipes they have. It was a bit annoying that one of us had to go back across the street to get the coal, but luckily it was not me! I can not tell you to much about the high it gave us that night as we were already blazed but I know the pipe tasted good and burnt for ages. I smoked a few spliffs of it latter in the trip and it seemed like your average maroc really, nothing out of the ordinary but a perfectly good smoke.
This August my friend and I went halfs on a gram of the Kashmir special €18. This was a lovely lovely smoke, I can see why some people call the best black hashes cream, the thick smoke just seemed to slip down with easy. Thinking about it the first joint we smoked in there was amazing!!
The bar it's self is very comfortable but I always find it so hot, probably to get you to drink your beer faster ha ha. The large sofas are just asking for you to curl up and go to sleep on, that's why they call it the lounge I suppose. On the last visit we ended up sitting in the tobaco smoking room as one of the party only smoked cigarets, I guess this could get very crowded but we took over the table near the window and were more than happy. I know that this room was only built to get round the tobaco smoking ban but it did seem rather pointless as the door was open the whole time we were in there!
This place is great I like to drink and smoke in the evening so these sort of bars are my favourite, the product i have had from over the road is good and there is a wide choice; plus if you do not like their gear just pick up from voyagers before you head down there for a few cool beverages

4.5/5 love it!!!

Chilled here for the first time with my purchases from Boerejongens/Bij this week. Good music also. Bit too dark for my liking though.
I can recommend moroccan restaurant 'Biladi' round the corner(left-hand side of the road of Coffeeshop Kashmir) on Borgerstraat 189.
