was in dolphins over new year, loved the place!

the downstairs section was great, loved the decor, spent literally hours just looking at the art work. Best thing had to be the comfy sofas, having only been to amsterdam once i havnt been to all the coffee shops but this out of about the 15 i went to seemeed to be the only one with sofas!

DEFINATELY reccomend the cakes they do there, the rest of the day is a blur and it pretty much knocked a friend of mine out!

will definately be calling into dolphins when i return to amsterdam in august.

Found this place while looking for de rokerij, situated on kerkstraat looks good from outside and even better inside, decorated in an underwater world. Staff were friendly and helpful along with a fairly good menu. Only drawback was, they didnt have my size of t-shirt try again next visit. All in all a most excellent coffeeshop.

Although I rarely see a bad post on Dolphins, at the same time it doesn't seem to get mentioned all that much... is this for any reason, or just that people don't tend to stray down into this area?
Either way, I love it and will be returning for my first smoke back in Dam in August!

Loved Dolphins, the area downstairs must be one of the comfiest places to chill in Amsterdam. Didnt buy any of their weed for no reason other than we always seemed to have just stocked up when we visited.

BTW their large OJs are a steal, about 5 euros but about 10 oranges squeezed into every glass.

I only found this place by accident. I think lots of people tend to stay near Red Light and Centraal Station area, as there is all the coffeeshops you need there, yet not so many near Dolphins. It is a bit of a mission if you're walking, but getting a tram is easy enough.

I've just got back from the Dam again. Spent 4 days there with great weather company. One of the girls had never been, so it was nice to take her back to Dolphins (of course).

She absolutely loved it too! Once again we bought a nice bag of the White Dolphin and i stocked up on my Dolphin's lighters as a little momentum.

Going back in about 6 wks, can't wait! Roll on September - and i'll be introducing a newie to Dolphins.

The Dolphins is a great coffeeshop. Great weed, great staff, great place to chill. After 2 weeks in the 'Dam, this was my usual morning spot. 3 euros for a glass of THE BEST coffeeshop orange juice I came across the entire time there. I highly recommend it. I became buddies with a great guy who works there, Ini. Overall this and the Nes Cafe were my favorite places to hang out in Amsterdam. Cheers

The girl that worked there on a sundaynight was a great help. Took her time to tell me what to get - and did a little dance afterwards ;-) Great fun. And yeah - those muffins are awesome. Bought a bunch for the hotel!

I went to amsterdam on sept 8th 2006 and stayed in leidplien very close to dolphins. This is an excellent hangout with great cannabis. They now have their weed and alcohol licenses back i definatly recommend this coffeeshop!!!

I didn't buy any bud here but had a few drinks and a space cake. Not bad, but I have a hard time even noticing anything from space cake, so I go on taste (any rarely does anything taste good but weed and McDonalds, so go figure) and the taste was okay. I loved the decor though and I thought that the staff was very friendly. There are few places where the owner (I guess also the decorator) hasn't either used the word Dolphins in script or a picture of a dolphin. Name recognition is immediate. Pretty blue too!
