we stayed at the winston which is just down the road and discovered the greenhouse effect, we bought a gram of super silver haze and i have never smelt gear that smelt so good as this stuff. it was really late on so they couldn't make us a coffee but all we wanted was an evening smoke anyway. there was a staff member from barney's in there too, he was wasted and was muttering something to us and telling the budtender (who was cool) that he didn't need to ID us cos we had been in his place. he asked us how we were and stuff, he didn't really make sense but the fact that we were recognised was heart warming :)
oh yeah, greenhouse effect, umm.. good smoke nice dealer. other greenhouse was not an enjoyable experience but effect was good

I just left amsterdam yesterday after a 10 day stay in greenhouse effect. being january it was usually pretty vacated which is a good thing - the bud was decent but nothing amazing - i can recommend the NYCD haze - very flavoursome and smooth smoke. Also tried the Greenhouse Special which was probably my least favorite of the trip - really harsh and really earthy. I have pics coming soon.
I miss that place so much.

I didn't manage to go to this coffeeshop last visit, will visit it next time though. What strains can people recommend? Is the cannabis cup winner worth it (arjan's ultra haze i think it was) it also seems like the neville's haze would be worth the try.
I did pop by greenhouse namaste which i haven't heard of much on this website. However, its a 21 plus coffeeshop so we weren't allowed to stay (we were 18 and 19). But i must point out that the guy working there was awsome, he explained to us why we weren't allowed to stay, recommended us a couple of closeby coffeeshops, and gave us one of those free maps and indicated how to get to the other greenhouse and to bluebird which was nearby. Awsome dude.

Greenhouse Effect has absolutley nothing to do with "The Greenhouse" coffeeshop chain that has won loads of cannabis cups. So no arjans ultra haze or nevilles here. They do have Northern lights, and supersilver haze which i can recommend though.

Can anyone confirm if you still get discounts in the coffeeshop if you're a guest in the hotel here? I've read about it and their website mentions happy hour prices on lager and cider all day (what a result!!!!) but there's no mention of discount on smoke...

8 DAYS, 8 DAYS, 8 DAYS!!! I can hardly contain myself!!!

Greenhouse Effect is well underrated. I have only been in the coffeeshop side but that was more than enough for me. Very chill environment and extremely friendly staff made for an excellent anytime call in. Music was always perfect, chill hip hop in the mornings winding up a bit as the day went on, very nice.

When i was there recently they had Bio-Haze on special offer: if you wanted a large amoutn then your really got a great deal, bit more than 7E a gram for a really nice Haze in that area is a absolute steal.

They had a lovely big leather couch right at the back of the shop as well which is sooo comfy after all that lovely Haze.

You gotta go!!

I like the idea of staying above this place... does anyone know what the bar is like? No doubt i'll be spending alot of my time in there on account of the cheap booze for hotel guests 8)

Edit: actually, we're past midnight ... 7 DAYS, 7 DAYS, 7 DAYS.... :P

The coffeeshop was undergoing a minor refurb when we went there a few days ago, still selling though. I bought some diesel which seemed expensive compared to some (can't remember how much), but was a good enough toke. We stayed for a drink or 2 in the bar and that is a sound enough place - OK priced beer and a good vibe.

I thought that we had been in here before (I thought it was the one opposite 36 WRONG)
but we hadn't.
We stayed in the Hotel and was not dissappointed great place with a lovely manageress called Ruth who was English and like the rest of the staff was very friendly and welcoming.
The coffee shop reminded me of an old fashioned train carriage but still a great place to chill. The budtender, a young Basque lad was very friendly (and yes we got our discount) and quite a looker :)
Our first purchase was NYCD haze 1g E11.50 nice mild flavour, but which monged me good and proper after 3 joints
Our next purchase (we were there 6 days) was the Amnesia Haze1g E11 which was nice and zesty and tasted like lemon and cracked black pepper. That had a nice buzz. (that evening I met Whisky a lovely golden retreiver who promptly humped me when I stood up, so I guess that counts as my weird sex in the Dam  )
Hubby bought the reccommended Banana cake here and enjoyed it.
After much crawling about, we spent the night b4 Queens day chilling in the window seat which was our fave place as you can watch the world and his wife walk by. We bought prerolled Purple Haze and Super Polm Joints E3 each and that night chilled for 4 hours YES FOUR
moved on to our other smokes and ended up off my face (job well done  )
We had such a good time in here every visit that I can't work out how we missed this one before. I will deffo be staying here again (don't wanna stay elsewhere now) This is a great hotel, great bar (where you can smoke too, and a great coffee shop :D :D :D
