Another montage here. With some lesser known shops - Alien Visitors anyone? I recall there seemed to be a few around the RLD that were kinda space/alien themed back in the 90s when the X-Files was popular. Twilight Zone. Was there one called Area 51?

Utopia 2012. Before it got plugged
I was so lucky to visit only the once just a couple of weeks before the Plug took over. I know it was a forum favourite and there may be 1 or 2 familiar faces from about 1.30 onwards

Oh man this almost hurts! 2012 was peak Utopia. I must have had so many sessions in there around that time, including my birthday when I got hugely baked and almost whited out listening to Electric Ladyland. Utopia in 2012 is my all time favourite coffeeshop. Not just for the ambience and the standard of the weed but also the staff (Nel, Jessica - has any coffeeshop ever had more accommodating hosts?)

The Pool Dog - Now Resin

Used to enjoy whiling away an hour or two shooting pool and having a smoke. A real no frills place

Amazing hosts. I remember asking for a gram of Citronella and got given a 1.1 as it was bottom of the tub but the best thing was Ingi emptied the tub on the counter removing as many stalks and stems as she could. Their Tangerine Dream & Tangerine Ice Hash were top quality smokes too! Sitting at the window table playing draughts for a couple hours. Amazing memories.

That intrigued me muchly this morning! Any idea when it turned into Resin?

The Pool Dog, what a great name.

Mate, you are doing a sterling job on the detective work. I looked all over for interior shots of Pool Dog. Amazing.

I think it was around 2006 maybe, that it changed. It was certainly still Pool Dog in 03 i think. The pool room is where the swing seat is now - if you've ever been in Resin. They also moved the counter on to the opposite wall, however I believe when Resin first opened it was still on that same side. From what I remember it was a turkish/moroccan run place and I don't think I ever saw anyone else in there other than ourselves! The gear wasn't great, mostly smoked our own but bought the occasional bit of hash here. The pool room is as i remember it, sparse, no frills, but the front room looks nicer than I recall - we never sat in there though, just shot pool in the back. Brilliant memories, thank you!

Nice. Looks like he's in a Kadinsky with the old logo and decor.

And whats that place at 32.12? De Stempel? Never heard of that one. Google has nothing. Unless @avfc-herbalist can work his magic?

By the way this is...

No worries mate, glad to be able to bring back memories for you. I really find enjoyment searching out old Coffeeshops, as sad as that sounds

Pool table and an arcade machine, I wish I could find a Coffeeshop with that combination now.

He's good. He's very good!

I remember Softland very well indeed. Spui was my area of choice back in the day. Kadinsky, 2e Kamer, Dampkring etc
Softland was the Internet coffeeshop back before smartphones. You could smoke your own in there, which was handy as the weed wasn't as good as other nearby shops. Jeez we'd spend all day walking up and down Spuistraat

I can see why you'd spend the whole day walking up and down Spuistraat HitTheNorth with 7th Heaven, Chocolata, Softland, Monaco, M&M & Mediterrane!

I feel another load of long gone coffeeshops coming up as all of that list is either a different coffeeshop or is no longer there at all 8) 8)

By the way I laughed hard at Lemmings new description of Mediterrane. "Now with added YouTuber"

Also, talking about internet points in coffeeehops the 2004 Amsterdam video you posted yesterday had a great computer section. I think it's Betty Boop?
