Well Trichome, my bong is pretty unique and different, your probably not gunna find a bong like mine where you are locally, but in general what your gunna want for your first bong is just a simple glass tube, preferably glass on glass (both slide and downstem are glass, as well as the tube) and you will also probably want to buy one with an "ice catcher" aka the pinches in the glass to hold ice up so you can take some nice cool hits with cubes. Thats what I got for my first bong and I loved the thing to death, used the shit out of it.

Yeah that is a nice bong. I'm looking to get an ash catcher for mine. I'll prolly head over to Kind Creations to get one, unless ya'll can recommend a better and or cheaper place.

I intend to get an ashcatcher too, im going to get another inline diffuser but an ashcatcher so mine is double, the thing will surely destroy after that, as it already does without it!

Roors and the like are a waste of money. You're paying for a brand name. Just get one that is ALL glass, the thicker the better.

There is nothing magical about a 300 dollar bong. I've got a 4 foot tall, 90 dollar all-glass bong that hits just as hard as any at 4 times the price. Just make sure its all glass, the other stuff is just gimmicks and doesn't get you any higher.
Why drink and drive when you can smoke and fly?

Your choice man, use a dirty CS bong or a clean "Big mug" bong :)

So your saying perculation is a gimmick? I agree with you when you say that Brand names such as RooR and others are a bit of a hype, but these companies also produce high quality glass products. By saying your 4 foot tall all glass normal bong hits the same as any bong thats completely false. Example look at my bong, it has inline diffusion coil which creates thousands of little bubbles purifying the hit that you take, thus creating a smoother cleaner hit, I think you would understand if ya came over to my place and took a hit off the Beetle-Juice. I can take hugeeeeee hits from most perculated bongs that I couldnt even imagine taking from a normal straight up bong. you ask why? because it most certainly is different, if you dont believe so take a look around on the internet, with the technology we have today more and more things are being created for glass, the perculator itself was groundbreaking and has elevated glass blowing to a whole new level!

O.K, from what I can gather, you need to fork out all that cash because you cant hit a bong unless it has a million percs and difusers and pinch holes and ashcatchers and any other nonsence you care to mention.
I can understand that.......I think Bonglord said it best....

haha I can take a big binger rip from any normal binger, which I will show you when we get the pleasure of meeting in Ams at some point in the future Twitch :) but think about it this way, Glass is in many ways my form of art, thus is why I like to buy alot of it and I have a decent collection, now if your smoking alot why not have a bong that gives you a smoother hit so you dont cough up a lung, its all personal preference. I can take so much more smoke into my lungs with my Beetle Juice then a normal bong which would make me die from coughing, so which will I choose? plain and simple the one that gets me higher, ya feel me? USBL is right a bong is a bong, but not "all bongs are the same", I couldnt disagree with that statement more.

if you smoke all your gear through that then the $250 u spent on it is nothing compared to the amount of money most people in europe spend on tobacco that they mix with their gear. that bong will last 4eva, so work out how much a lifetimes worth of tobacco cost, dont know what u pay for ciggies in the states but here in the u.k its £6 - $9 for box of 20, so in comparison that spaceship u got is well worth the money

I agree, not All bongs are the same.
However, I still say alot of the ' Gimmicks' assosiated with bongs are OTT. If you look at both our points, you will see we agree on somthing.
All thats required is good quality, glass on glass preferably thick glass. Anything else is optional, right?

As far as you're point on you're collection of glass as art. That I can dig, some of the hand blown glass available is just that, ART.

And I hope we do meet in Amsterdam, then you will see first hand that I am, infact, a spliff man  But I will fill you're bong of choice for you. 8)

Great point Pauli. If you can guarentee that you aint gonna break it at some point.
If I break a £35 bong, its gonna hurt alot less than if I break one costing 5 times as much. Or am I wrong......you mafia folks have a never ending supply of dough....right
