Yeah, there's that. But I like the one-vape-per-table policy in the CoffeeshopAmNeSiA22488 wrote:If they get any more high end there prices will be through the roof haha
And I usually end up at the Uptown after a visit to The Movies further down the road. Nice combo for Thursday evening: new movie release at The Movies followed by Ladies Night at Uptown

Re: Barney's Breakfast Bar
Stopped here and picked up a gram each of Blue Cheese, Caramella Cream, Tangerine Dream and Dr. Grinspoon
The Blue cheese I smoked before bed and knocked me the F*ck out, so desired effect achieved.
Caramella Cream was... I cant remember!
Tangerine Dream was my favourite smoke of the trip, loved the taste and the happy effect it gave.
Dr. Grinspoon was an excellent daytime smoke, great if you have stuff to do, I preferred the Tangerine Dream though.
Didn't stay to smoke here as it was packed, so we took a walk down to some cafe where they were still smoking cigarettes inside. (fight the power) had a beer then back and sat in Barneys uptown for some Chips a beer and a smoke

Re: Barney's Breakfast Bar
I have been here many times and Barney's has never let me down when it comes to having the highest quality weed in Amsterdam. Maybe I've been lucky but I've had some of the best smokes of my life here, including Amnesia Haze, Tangerine Dream (aaaah!), Liberty Haze
, Vanilla Kush and Utopia Haze. The place is obviously very popular but I find it's fairly quiet mid-afternoon and I usually just go across to Barney's Uptown for some decent munchies with my newly purchased smoke. It's a pretty nice setting and they have drinks. I'm glad they don't have that "Brasserie" anymore. That place was the pits.

I will not pay the prices Barneys demand for what is admittedly good weed but definitely not the best. I much rather buy a g of the cheapest weed and smoke my excellent weed bought from Voyagers, Utopia and elsewhere at lower prices in their surroundings. Any budtender with an attitude like the above post states, I will avoid. It's amazing that establishments like Barneys that consider themselves 'top end' employ people that can and will lose them business.

Hunters the same. Lots of coffeeshops have dick BT's that cost them money. The trouble is BT's are such cool people that we are all dicks in their eyes.macca187 wrote:ive visited the dam 11 times now and every trip i would purchase at least a few grams of there cup winning strains and lots of drinks etc.after his stinking attitude i definately wont bother again.theres weed of the same quality available elsewhere and cheaper

The fact is some BT's are selling substandard, over priced product to gullible tourists all day who love them for it. I think it might be one of those jobs where contempt for the customer can creep in.
Tourists coming in all day with the same old conversations. Yawn city. Fuck em. 'Here's 0.8g of some shit I'm trying to get rid of. Todays free gift is some extra attitude which I have an unlimited supply. I will either rip you off or be rude to you. Those are your choices. If you'd like different choices please fuck off to another coffeeshop.' 'Thank you, please do not come again.'
When that shit starts happening.....goodbye.
How much did you produce?

Re: Barney's Breakfast Bar
Hello barneys fanboi here
Two differents takes on barneys....30+visits over 10years
I have what I believe IMHO bought some of the best gear ever from barneys....over priced but pretty consistent.
But I have had some mediocre gear from there too... More times than not good to great gear...
The times I've had shit gear from there is when the Carlos teves look a like is serving me, got nothing but blank service from him and I only ask for maybe 1g of something from him and it usually ends up being made up of little bits and a little shake!!!
The times I've had good service and good grass from there is when andy the English fella with a slight oriental look is serving.
Best results I've had are when new stock has just arrived. Ill ask andy what he reckons, he pulls out a tub to show me and if a juicy looking bud in the tub is calling my name I'll ask to have the whole bud.
Worst result came later the same day and got another 2g of the same gear(supposedly) got a bag full of little bits not one decent sized bud, guess what, I was being served by teves lookalike
Soo in summary you are more likely to get good grass if u have a good relationship with the dealer (shouldnt be that way As this is a business and not street dealing, but hey that's human nature), turn up when a fresh batch has arrived, and ask for more than 1g as a decent bud is usually more than 1g.

Re: Barney's Breakfast Bar
I was in Barney's last week, it is just across the road from the hotel we stay in so drop the bags off and grab some smoke. I knew that I would not be staying long so just a buy and fly before we head for some breakfast at Le Grotte.
I have had previously only bought green from this coffeeshop and have never yet been disappointed with the product, this time I asked for a piece of hash. Well as a common theme for this trip they did not have the one I asked for, telling me that they only had the Manala Cream at the moment. I bought it because I was on holiday and ready for a smoke but I have to say €18 might be on the tad expensive side.
Well as I was the only one smoking at that time I rolled up the sort of joint I would normaly have at home, not a stonker but more than big enough for one. It had a harsher taste than the best stuff you get but tasted good whilst being smoked, the aftertaste was not great and I was happy when I could clean my teeth. It burned slow and clean, leaving a white ash, clean product another good sign.
As for the effects they were top draw, I had a nice floaty high that was long lasting. I had another joint of this hash before smoking anything else and the high repeated it's self. I had a good couple of hours out and about before I felt the call to find something else to stimulate my mind.
In conclusion a high standard hash but you are paying at least €2 extra just because it was from Barney's

Re: Barney's Breakfast Bar
Been to Barney's many time, often after an all-nighter rave somewhere. Get a fixer-upper breakfast and some nice (but never amazing) weed. But yes, very busy.
As to the "too many loud Americans". LOL yes, but met some really interesting ones there. My favourite were a couple, an East Coast loud, piercingly shrill Jewish woman, and her Californian beach-blonde blue-eyed laid-back boyfriend. Really odd couple. They had just a few hours in Amsterdam, were off to Israel (to do her "roots" type thing). It was back in the day shrooms were still legal and they'd eaten loads hoping to arrive in Israel tripping their heads off. I said this was back in the day, 2000-and-something, just as the 2nd Intidfada was kicking off.
There are many thing I want to try in my life, but tripping in Tel Aviv International Arrivals during the Palestinian Uprising is not among them.

I find the shop itself pretty nice, but the prices are a joke here. If you add on top of that a BT that gives attitude...I would say, NEXT PLZ
