Man these pics are driving me crazy! So yummy looking! I looked far and wide for the closest apartment I could near Basjoe's, all were booked for my dates. . From the reviews and descriptions it sounds like a place I could hold up all day =)
Damn May cant get here fast enough. Any idea when Terminator is coming back? Iceolator is definitely a must try for me.
Managed to find an apt next door to Resin's.

True Playa wrote:Looked like a cool place, but as i was with a big group there wasn't room to chill. I picked up some heaven haze but didn't find it to be all that heavenly, it was nice don't get me wrong but it didn't really stand out against the other hazes i sampled. Bas special and the cheese didn't seem too special either. Was a bit surprised after all the good things i heard on here but i guess i just went at the wrong time.
Is there not a big smoking room in the back ? i have only been in the front of the shop and even that seemed pretty big to me ! a good few booths

there are only the booths in the front of the shop, there is no big smoking room in the back
on the right of the counter there are a couple of steps to the men's and women's toilets
behind the counter on the left there are a couple of steps and a door into the basjoe private office

I have never been to Basjoe's. I came to Amsterdam for the first time in 1997 when I was 18 and have been back on 4 more occasions in the past 12 years. Can't believe I missed this shop, I've read about it, but never heard any reviews about it until I found this forum.

it's
gezellig
According to Wikipedia, “A perfect example of untranslatability is seen in the Dutch language through the word gezellig, which does not have an English equivalent. Literally, it means cozy, quaint, or nice, but can also connote time spent with loved ones, seeing a friend after a long absence, or general togetherness.”

Hell yeh, its like the CS used to be before the Arrival of the yuppie bar look. I spent a fair few hours in there last trip. I dont like hanging around in CSs but prefer to move to the next one something i found hard to do with this CS.
Enjoy

Because in this instance, wiki is spot on. Basjoe is Gezellig.
