Mate I used to go and see them in Middle earth in covent garden London in the 60s they were just getting their PF sound on then with Saucer Full of Secrets and Piper At the Gates of Dawn. At the time they were not easy listening, I hadn't discovered what the term progressive meant then, but when I went to see them later in about 74 at the Finsbury Park Rainbow rolling out Dark Side of The Moon I got it. :D Favourite Album has to be Atom Heart Mother, if for the album cover alone my christ me and the Mrs rolled a good few J's on that one :D And I'm a country boy originally and really like cows. Great album though, Alans Psychedelic Breakfast is classic. Ah memories come back with a little prompting Macky

Ah yes, the age of vinyl and rolling joints on Pink Floyd album covers.

I saw them on the Animals tour. In a warehouse called New Bingley Hall in Stafford, UK.

They played the whole Animals album, the whole Wish You Were Here album and Money as an encore. I think they even played the tracks in the same order as on the albums and everything sounded exactly like the albums. This was particularly remarkable in those days when I was used to watching bands struggle with appalling PA systems in our local town hall.

That clip above of Waters doing Pigs in Mexico last year is amazing. Making Trump one of the Pigs and substituting the White House for Mary Whitehouse is interesting. Slightly disturbing watching the Battersea Pig being killed by the crowd though.

Pink Floyd, like the Grateful Dead, were pioneers in "artists improving audio" While GD experimented with the Wall of Sound, PF also worked toward a better concert experience. Brittania Row were loosely founded somehow with PF influence, then worked with Tony Andrews and Turbosound to further improve. The culmination of the effort was Turbosound Flashlight system which debuted in the early 90s. This system had technicians aligning individual array elements with a laser, sighting each throughout the venue. However, the line array type systems (tall thin systems) appeared and quickly overtook the older type systems. In any event, PF has always cared about the audio experience for their fans, and it shows.

Forever Young
Bob Dylan

May God's bless and keep you always
May your wishes all come true
May you always do for others
And let others do for you
May you build a ladder to the stars
And climb on every rung
May you stay
Forever young
Forever young
Forever young
May you stay
Forever young
May you grow up to be righteous
May you grow up to be true
May you always know the truth
And see the lights surrounding you
May you always be courageous
Stand upright and be strong
And may you stay
Forever young
Forever young
Forever young
May you stay
Forever young
May your hands always be busy
May your feet always be swift
May you have a strong foundation
When the winds of changes shift
May your heart always be joyful
May your song always be sung
And may you stay
Forever young
Forever young
Forever young
May you stay
Forever young
