Jakop Vanely, a little easy on the lanuage. I know your upset, but have you looked at it from their side. If the place was maxed out with people, maybe they get a very stiff fine or worse, closed down if caught. You have every right to your speak your mind, but please refrain from the harsh langauge. Thanks, AzLaker

Barney's has ALWAYS been my first stop in A'dam right from the airport, however I was EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED this year at the just awful selection of buds they are offering and they have also raised their prices a bit. Even though they are open the earliest, save your money and buy your herb elsewhere! The Greenhouse on O.Z. Voorburgwaal is open pretty early also and have much better product.

Was in Barney's today and they seem to have more on the menu. Good weed, slightly over priced, super hash especially the rubble, it's expensive but is so strong.
Barney's location is super, there are lots of great bars, restaurants within a 5 min walk.

Have to agree with both sides of the argument here, when I first started to goto Barneys I was impressed with the service/weed etc. But the last 2 times i have visited I have'nt been impressed, Dealer was ok but they never had what i wanted, as i was on my own the staff seemed to want me to leave on their terms (i was only staying for a joint and a drink) and tried to rush me out of the premises.

This is my favourite shop and even I had a bed experience here during my last trip. I belive it was the 3rd or 4th day I was there, I walked in at my usual time, but the usual dealer wasn't there, instead it a guy with glasses and curlly hair(I forgot his name already). I buy my usual 3 grams of love potion to get me going for the day and ask for a bong. The guy goes to grab one of the crappy little thing and not my usual roor. I ask him for a roor and he tells me he's not letting anyone use those because too many have been broken. I think not, I explain to him that if I break it I will gladly pay to replace it, he accepts my offer but does it in a huff. As I'm sitting at my table enjoying it all to myself for a change, Derry(the owner) walks in, sees me and sits down for a chat. After seeing that I'm not the average american tourist, he then comes over to me with a peace offering, some of his own personal Ice O Lator. This was the tastiest thing by far I smoked on my trip. We then talked about make Ice O lator for about two hours exchanging tips, and a few days later even took me to his house to purchase some.
Everyone can have a bad experience in any coffeeshop, just do what you came to do and smoke up.

I visited the Haalemstraat(?) one and the new Barney's lounge. I like the lounge a lot. Very nice budtender. Young Irish guy. Very informative and helpful. The coffeeshop itself is very nice and not vey busy. It is simple and tasteful. I would recommend it. I would not recommend Willie Nelson though!! I was very dissappointed with this. This is a very plain weed! Sativa wise it cannot come close to G13 or Grey Haze from the Grey area.
The older Barneys is nice but quite busy. I bought some Red Congo here. Very Nice Bud. Willie Nelson does not have anything on this weed. It is a bright happy and to point sativa. One of the highlights of the trip.

Had breakfast at the old Barney's. Food was ok, staff and weed dealer were very nice. Amnesia haze was good. Next day went to the new Barney's on the corner, sat down outside under the canopy. The waitress was very rude. Got the feeling we were not wanted or welcome (We are an older very polite couple). She rolled back the canopy so the sun was directly in our eyes. Had a coke and left. Worst treatment of the entire trip!. Will not go back to the new Barney's.

Been going to Barneys for Breakfast every morning on every trip over the last few years and I got to say I will been doing so again starting from this Friday 7am sharp!
See,where I live, you cant get a greasy nasty meal like that and Im quite fond of it. Toast, eggs, hashbrowns and salty dutch bacon washed down with a cafe latte is the perfect start to any mornin'!
The morning crew can be rough but they have good reason 10 out of 10 times ive witness them chastize patrons.Because it opens early, all sorts pass thru. Some are a little young and clueless to how to act.An example being a small group I saw last dec. being rude to the order/cook guy,"hey!"the patron says trying to get the guys attention(dutch sevice is slow, some dont get that and adjust)"Hey is how you speak to dogs, say excuse me!" was the reply from the pissed staff.
As far as the weed menu.Well it is a little pricey but you do get what you pay for.One bit of gear that gets little or no mention on these forums is Barney's G-Sus, a heavy Indica(G13xGodbud)that is frankly super damn good(*note*this is a day-ender!).
They let you smoke what you brought without guilt and even show you how to use the Volcano they have.I personally would'nt put my lips to it on a dare but, if I suddenly lost my mind and did, I can count on the staff for friendly direction.
I can see myself there now, having my first toke of the day and having a latte.Cant wait!

I've been to barney's once, (the one on the street not on the corner) and it was busy, but not overly crowded.
I had a look at their menu which looked pretty good and the bud tender was sound, I purchased a gram of Laughing Buddha and a 1.5g of Purple Haze which I'm pretty sure was outdoor as it had a feather in it... and my m8 got a gram of Lavender and a gram of Mazaar-i-Shariff, the Buddha was spot on and lived up to it's name, it made me laugh my head off and my m8 too, even though he was shrooming and the Purple Haze was surprisingly good, as was the Lavender, and the M-I-S was very tastey and deep, so overall not bad but a bit too pricey.
Later on I went back and got a gram of Barney Rubble but it wasn't as strong as I remebered it, not worth E32 anyway.

Barneys NEVER AGAIN!

Barneys has changed! It has lost it’s charm and become a mass tourist machine. I have been visiting the place for just over ten years, and I remember the innocent days when Barneys was a great place to get a cheap, large vege (or meat) breakfast, where the people were friendly, travellers just like you that picked up a job their for the summer. Over the years Barneys got busy, busy, busy and then they opened Barneys 2, a couple of doors down. I am sure this is when money took over good service. Last year we sat and had our breakfast in Barneys 2 as Barneys was full. I popped in to buy some overpriced NYC Diesel and then went and found a seat in No2. the staff were so rude, hurrying you along so they could clear your table. O.K. the place was busy but we had just spent nearly £50 on weed, breakfast and drinks and we were been 'hassled' off our table after 25mins! I watched a lone traveller 'loudly' refused entry as he was alone and he would take up a table! The poor guy was so embarrassed!
I honestly hoped this was just a 'one off' but on a more recent visit a very similar incident happened I have now vowed not to line their pockets with any more of my tourist cash! Not a pleasant place to be when your stoned or trying to get stoned...

This place is a expensive and and quite commercialised, probably because of its location and how well it has done in the cup over the past few years. However I still rate Barneys as one of the best and the breakfast and smoke are top quality. When I visited a few days ago I got some of the laughing buddha and caramella cream, my mate got the amnesia haze and all were very good. This is always my first stop in Amsterdam.

Bar maid was pushy and made everyone feel unwelcome. Looks like some top quality buds at a high price.
