@GeekyMonkey...I did not call James a wanker? as was stated the guy that served me was most definitely not James...this guy looked very young...had no dreads etc.. anyone know who he could be?? very unfriendly....

But I would like to meet James on my next trip so that maybe I can get a better opinion on the place, I also reckon places/people deserve a second chance...except of course for Hunters and Rokerij..never again will I go to either of these places..(try upselling me again and I will embarrass you again)...

Fair enough dude that's why we all jumped to defend what you were slating as your first post here read like it was James you were referring to which gets quite personal to many here. That in itself speaks of how differently many feel about basjoes and you definately should give it another go sometime. Hopefully I'll be there in a few weeks and I'll see what it's like this year. And you are right too that this is a place where you should speak your mind of cours but expect some old hippy like me to say how nice they are really etc. Interestingly noone has popped up to defend your similar comments on rokerij, which is probably a sign of agreement. Thanks for the debate and finally what was your favourite hash of your trip if you dabbled (not isolator)?

hmmm...favourite hash this trip would have to be either the Turkish I tried at Paradox or else some Nepalese TB that I picked up...love that stuff.. as for Basjoe's I will be sure to try it out again on my next visit... I was just very surprised at the service, especially after reading such good reviews here it was a bit of a let down to be honest, but hopefully I can see James next time and then I will surely have a better judgement of the place as a whole! :D

I went in and wanted to get a half a gram of two different strains, but was told the least I could buy was 1g. So I just got 1g of the jack. It was very well cured, and a pleasant smoke. I liked that the shop had a natural breeze going though it to keep the fresh air coming. I can see why it is a popular shop, but having to get a full gram was a bit of a let down.

You will find that is very common in a lot of shops. Unless they have a high turnover or they have it on the menu.

I visited Basjoe on my last visit entirely based off the reviews I read here on ACD and came away extremely pleased.

Bought a gram of Bas Special and Himalayan Hash each and was thoroughly impressed with both samples.

I also forgot to pay inside and accidentally walked off after smoking on the terrace and James, who flagged me down outside, was extremely low key and surprisingly cool about it considering most tenders would've thought it was an intentional move.

Greenhouse over on Harlemerstraat has been the worst in terms of grumpy tenders from my experience.

Picked up a couple of grams of Baspecial on different occasions both nice but the second batch looked amazing orangey colours and smells sour (not smoked any pics to come)

However I bought a G of Jack Herer and unfortunately it was a bit fresh for me  still damp (will give it a further cure)

Great hospitality as usual fist bumps and grabs of random weed to roll up and was also gifted a piece of spacecake  good selection of ice tea too , and what else can be said about the terrace ?!

CONGRATULATIONS TO BASJOE'S ON WINNING THE 2011 HESTIA 4/20 CUP!!! :D :)

Once again, I was not disappointed in what James had on tap, especially the mystery weed.
From the moment I stepped foot in the "house", James was reaching for the "Uncle Pipe".   He loaded it up with some wicked weed, told me to light up, and get ready for some more. I sampled everything in the house (no Terminator  ), and damn if I didn't enjoy every bit. Blinded by the weed.

Foot note:
During the many hours that I sat at the counter smoking and joking with James and La Grenjo (sp) this past week, I noticed a few customers who, well let's just say they needed an attitude adjustment. Unbelievable how some people think they can walk up to a bud tender and in a demanding tone say "gimme the menu". Seems they might not have been taught to be polite and say please and thank you, douche bags. It's all about attitude, period and full stop.

Happy Basjoe's...
