the voting public say 175-17 or 91%.... I recon thats a fairly solid sampling for the overall experience one can expect at Basjoe.

I am glad to see I am not the only one who experienced bad service and all round hospitality at Basjoes. I went there on recommendation on this forum. It seems very popular and I wanted to check it out.

I am ALWAYS a very polite customer. I expect the same in return. I entered the shop and greeted James very politely and asked to see the menu. James had a big joint in his mouth at the time. He didn't say anything to me just flicked a menu toward me. I asked to see the Bubba Kush and it looked OK so I asked for a gram (the lighting in the shop is not great to view the bud)then I asked to see the Himalayan hash (part of the reason I wanted to go there as I am a total hash head). He showed me a lump and I asked for a gram. The whole time he was puffing on his joint and had not said a SINGLE word to me. At that point he said the price and I paid. Then he turned his back and went out the back of the shop.

Now that is the worst type of service as far as I am concerned. No matter how shite your life may be at the moment you are in a public facing job and these people come in to spend their cash in your shop. Now you should at least be polite. It seems to me that some people get the great treatment and others get ignored. For me the attraction of the Dam is the ability to purchase in these shops and not be persecuted or have to deal with nefarious beings. To be perfectly honest I have received FAR better service from the various criminals and gang members I have had to deal with in the past to acquire my goods. I at least expected some level of service. This is a business after all.

I am not hating on Basjoes at all, just sharing my experiences. I shall not return on this trip as it is a short one and I want to check out more. I feel I would get the same experience next time anyway (guess James don't like the cut of my gib).

Bad service is one of my pet piss off's. I admit it may have been a bad day and all but it seems I am not an isolated case.

I am glad so many of you enjoy this place. It is why we go there, to find a place you enjoy and feel comfortable in and to indulge in your vices.

I will probably get savaged for this but the best service by MILES during my trip was at Barney's Lounge. I visited a few times because of this and got 2 different bud tenders who were both excellent. As a result I will return on my next trip.

On my next trip at the end of this month I intend to visit a whole bunch of shops I missed last time. There are bound to be some gems out there that fit everyones needs.

Unfortunately I am aware of most of the names, so my mouth won't drop in horror. I say unfortunately because I really don't like the immature drama and hyperbole associated with what you are referring to.
As for being part of a little online chat circle, the Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory is my only online chat circle, which includes you.
So TBH right back at you, I never stated nor inferred you should STFU, only to man up or shut up, BIG difference. Whatever.

I'm moving on to greener pastures filled with 3m tall Super Sativas.

To all that didn't receive the expected experience at Basjoe, nothing really to say except bummer, happens to most of us at some point. Welcome to the machine...
