Just seen an advert on TV (UK) which was quite inspiring, Click to view the website which was advertised... I'm about to go read some but as the advert was so good (through my eyes) that I wanted to share asap

The damage is done.

As individuals we'll make little or no difference. Together we'll make a dent.

Heavy industry has set wheels in motion here as has mother nature.

Global Warming is a misnoma, Climate change is an entirely natural process which we've accelerated a little.

Carbon is the buzz word whereas if you do a little digging you'll find Methane is the major contributing "Greenhouse Gas". This methane is being released from the polar ice caps as they melt, just like it has before at least 3 or 4 times over the last 100,000 years.

Our problem is that we can't see any change in the world and not believe that it was us that caused it...... in the grand scheme of things we're not that important.

If you can stop China and India burning coal and oil at never before seen levels then we might slow things down, but who are we to enforce that after we've been doing it for almost 200 years?

Man, a couple of real depressing threads going about now.

First one talks about the death of the coffeeshop and now I've got one about the death of the planet.

Solution to both: Enjoy them to the fullest while you still can because there is nothing you can do to stop it from happening.

The planet won't die..... we'll find it more difficult to live on but it won't die.

Maybe we will. Maybe other life forms will, but new and exciting life forms will evolve.

Life always finds a way.... you can't lock it up.

Personally I don't think life on earth will see out another 100 years, if we don't destroy ourselves by then first... the planet itself will do a deep clean. But unlike in the past, this will not be a natural occurance...it'll be brought on by the circumstances the human race have created. Failing that, somewhere in the universe, there's a big chunk of something hard floating around ....and it has our name on it.

.....and it aint Morroccan hash either!

I'd sacrafice kenya for a hashfilled crater.

Providing of course it was evacuated of humans and animals.

Expect fish. I wouldn't mind losing the fish. Maybe leave some potato fields too, and we'll have some fish and chips at the excavation site.

Are there a lot of fish in Kenya? It seems to me that if that was the case it is somewhat silly that they seem to starve all the time down there since taters grow quite good in sandy earth, which I also understand they have a lot of in afrika, at least last time I was there...

A big lump of morrocan and a fish supper. The end of the world looks as if it's gonna be the place 2 be. Cant wait

Only other major possibility is the return of the ice age which wouldnt surprise me either. Just as everyone plans for an increase in global temps it freezes over and suddenly all the money you spent on factor 50 and swimming shorts was a fat waste of cash!

As for 20 mega tons of moroccan I would rather it landed in my stash box than Africa! MMmmmmm you could really live the dream...hollow it out (what a hardship) then you could have a house made of hash. The neighbours could be a pain in the ass though always coming round to borrow stuff and it aint gonna be a cup of sugar. Smoking that however may increase global warming by releasing a huge derek (like a smokey room) into the planets atmosphere.

ditto that... when I saw the advert I was in the realms of a massive high and quite franky the announcement of World War Three would have seemed like good news ... basically we are on a self destruction course which during my lifetime has shown some changes and more "acts of nature" that are on the catostophic (sp) state but the worst is yet to come... who knows what will happen, imagine if LIFE on earth was wiped out and evolution took place "again"... over the millions of years that scientists predict is has taken us to get to this stage in time... now are "we" really the first to have elvolved to this stage... how many times has LIFE been wiped out and evolution taken place... twice, ten times... millions... puts a whole new mening to a long time

Well I remember playing LIFE when I was little kid. It certainly did end in a rather horrifying way each time.

If you think about it from a scientific point of veiw (sorry to sound like a twat) but the 20 tonnes of hash would burn up on entry to our atmospher, hence getting the entire planet completly stoned sounds good to me.

Well maybe it's encased in enough frozen nitrogren to survive the heat?
