stupid question about trams forgive me

ive never seen a tram till i visited amsterdam my question is this
do they go on their lines constantly for example
would the number 17 stay the number 17 all day like if i go to the bij coffeeshop on google maps it says take the 17 tram today from the stop just off the damrak
would it be the exact same schedule in april ??

Yes, it probably will. They sometimes, but very rarely, change the tram lines. Just make sure to re-check a few weeks before.
