Hello!
The dream of my life is to live in a free country as Holland. I LOVE CANNABIS.
I work for the last 3 months as a self employed on the internet, so my plans are to move in about 2 months from now. The problem is that I earn about 2000e per month of work 7-10 hours a day.
I know it will be very expensive to live in Amsterdam, so I want to ask for your opinion about other good city to live in and prices range+- if you know. I'm moving with my brother which makes about the same amount as me so we'll need a 2 room apartment.

Housing in the Netherlands is expensive. If you move to a smaller town or village be prepared for the shops to close early daily and limited coffeeshops. Have a look at the following websites for apartments.

I'd advise you to go on a holiday around various towns, to see if you like them. Most of the smaller places I''ve been to are beautiful to look at but I think I would be bored out my mind living there!! And probably just as much of a social outcast for smoking weed and not drinking as when I was back in the UK.
For instance, I have friends in Leiden who come into Amsterdam to buy weed and hang out because their coffeeshop scene is so poor compared to Amsterdam.
If you and your brother earn €4000 between you, you could probably find a 2 bed apartment and survive in Amsterdam.. just!

Well I've found some 2 rooms apartments in Haarlem for 900e, also in amsterdam/valsterdam for 1100e-1,250e, what do you think is the better deal?
Another thing is, I'm gonna live there probably at October, does the weather will kill us or it's not that bad? I come from Australia

Harlaam is a good place to live I'd say, good C/S scene , close to Amsterdam and the coast with good public transport.
Yes october is the beginning of winter and northern europe gets quite cold and Holland is right in the line of the easterly winds from Siberia. Brrrrr!

Yes, there could be issues. From time to time there is violence against Jews in Amsterdam. My best friend here is Israeli and from time to time he does feel uncomfortable.

I wear a pentacle ear ring,usually I get asked in Britain and Ireland are you a witch,but in Holland I have been asked on a few occasions are you Jewish?

I'm asking because last year I was in France and Belgium, damn I saw foreigners (muslims) everywhere I went, sometimes more than locals, so yeah I got scared a bit. I also heard from some friends that the muslims now taking control of most of the coffeshops by taking 'Protection fees' every month. That's very sad to hear, and this is one of the reasons they talk about unlegalizing it

So should I wait for the next year or move in October? I'm 20 y/o so I'm just interested in work, girls and smokes.. if it is warm inside the coffeshop and there are people in the streets, parties on weekends, then i guess it's ok
got any idea about it guys?

Ok, I am answered you honestly based on my mate's experience and the news. However, you kind of go too far in this one. The Muslims living here are locals, you are the foreigner if you choose to move here. Remember that. Peace

You saw foreigners,wow, you are a foreigner,I when I go there will be looked upon as being a foreigner,plus always remember that the best weed comes from places where foreigners live.The Dutch people as a rule are very conservative and some may even think you are a troll.
