The bathrooms have a glass wall, so if you're going with a mate you better look for another hotel.

It's not that expensive, look how much rooms are at the Convent! You can book the Park Plaza mystery hotel on
http://www.hotels.nl and more than likely you'll get Vondelpark. I've got it for 65 euro a night.

I have stayed at this hotel 2 years ago, loved it. Quiet, nice rooms, bathrooms (glass walls indeed) and good breakfast, "buffet style". There is a couple of benches behind the hotel, just in front of a lake, really good place to chill, almost no cars in this street. The "bad" thing of this hotel might be his location, cauz it's a bit far from everyting.

Hey, gotta resurrect this topic for a second. I'm staying at Park Plaza Wondelpark this month for 4 nights, 19th-23th of July. Anyone been here recently and tell how it was? How about the surrounding area, any markets near by? They got fridges in superior rooms? The bathrooms with glass windows seem freaky, going there with 3 other persons, luckily got a separate room for me and the lady, heh.

I can sincerely recommend this hotel to everybody. Had a great stay there for 4 nights, service was excellent, rooms were always on top shape after cleaners. Location was perfect too, just 100m away from Vondelpark, it was a beautiful place to end evenings there. Tram no. 2 goes to center almost next to the hotel door. I found it pretty pleasant that the hotel is located on a bit "better" part of the town, since I use hotels mostly just for sleeping and getting ready for a new day, so I appreciated the silence and calm atmosphere.
Breakfast buffee was nice, but way too expensive, 19e/person. We got a few 2 for 1 discount cards from reception so it made things a bit easier. On the menu there were scambled eggs, 2 different yoghurts, fruits, cheeses, few different types of breads and croissants, juices, different sorts of coffees and for meat eaters some bacon, sausages, hams etc. Oh yeah, fried mushrooms and mini pancakes!
Definetly worth staying in if you don't want to have your hotel right in the middle of the party zone. Tram to center (I consider Leidseplein to be center) takes only about 10 minutes.

I have been here twice and loved it twice. Love the location more than anything. There's a tram stop right near the hotel but at night it's quiet without all the downtown bustle.
