If you're into hop hop and like to drink you should give it a go. They are smoker friendly as well. The place is small so be prepared. Most nights it doesn't get busy until after midnight.

this is my spot in amsterdam, im a regular every trip. especially good before and after a concert at paradiso or melkweg as a little warm up and down. they also do a block party on queens day called hells kitchen.

spent a few evenings there this week.

the music is not always strictly hip hop, bit of soul and funk and alot of sampled tracks you will recognise.

gem of a place , mainly locals.

@highdro...... any info on entry prices and opening hours please?

opens 20:00 till 03:00 every night. 04:00 on fri and sats.

its free entry mate as its just primarily a bar , check their site for any special events.

even on a normal night you may catch djs playing or maybe some mcs on the small stage albeit in dutch. or just some good tunes playing. smoke freindly too.

Going to check this place out soon, looks really good! Can't believe I haven't been there already.

Thirsty Dogg is also a good place for hiphop, and smoking is allowed too

i saw the other thread and was going to try to update , but i must admit i walked past oude leliestraat looked down the street, saw the wooden carving of the thirsty dogg still there but didnt actually walk down to investgate further, sorry.

you know how it is , walkin a few metres at the time seemed like hard work , and never ventured over that area again this time. dont look good though what with the site being down too.

I am happy to report that Duivel is OPEN! It was closed for a few months after an unrelated shooting outside the club.
