Amsterdam Coffeeshop Directory Forums

Some of you probably saw this, but in late August, The New York Times ran an op-ed piece in which the writer openly questions why Amsterdam coffeeshops have such a negative rap, and says the failed drug policy-makers in the U.S. gub-mint might want to take a visit before painting with such a broad brush.

I saw it reprinted that week in Atlanta Journal-Constitution, clipped it out, and put it in our Amsterdam scrapbook. It was published about a month after our return, and was just a nice thing to see.

It isn't going to tell you anything you don't know, but hey, it's The Times.

Actually, it's the same length as most any op-ed piece in most any major U.S. newspaper. It's the extracurricular garbage on the bottom (*I ignored it, can't tell you what it said*) that makes it appear about five times longer.

Just read it, great viewpoint. Really annotates the pointlessness of prohibition.
