Dogs

Seems like everytime I light up, my dog has got to get in my face. I'll blow a hit in his face, he lays down and leaves me alone for a while. Do you think this is cruel, or am I just giving him what he wants? Anyone else's dog a pothead like mine?

I have a 2 year old mutt whos a fiend....i had to adjust my habit to make sure she wasnt eating everything...many a joints gone to waste a dog

Been getting my pets high for close to 17 years. Just don't overdo it, as the animal has no real free will. However, considering the LD50 is so incredibly high as to make Death by Cannabis nearly impossible and that the harmful effects of smoke take mad abuse to have any result... the animal will be fine. The thing you do have to be careful of is that it isn't allergic to the smoke or one of its constituents. Allergies are personal, and have nothing to do with the actual toxicity of the item in question.

We have got a six year old staffy called Trevor (no sniggers please) he can take or leave the odd blow in his face, but i have never seen a dog that can drink as much beer as him. Right pisshead.

if the dogs comes to you then he wants it.

as long as you aren't holding him down or locking him in the room with you....

he will either walk out, sit next to you, or just look at you wagging his tail looking confused

I love my dogs so I love this question..................

I guess all dogs are different on this matter I have one that the only time he has ever used cannabis was once when he was injured and in pain and somehow he knew it would help and he ate it right up but he has always refused it all other times both before and after that 2 weeks.

I also have a female that is my little stoner girl .... she turns it down occasionally but most of the time she has been known to get a touch impatient when I break it out and forget to offer her any.

Our cat came a little to close to the bong a while back. He got a huge hit blown his way.. was funny as hell at first, but about 10 minutes later it was scarry thought I had killed him. He went so absolutly limp.. never seen anything like it, hold him and he just melted. about 1/2 hour later he was up and himself again. Wife forbid me from ever giving him a hit again. All I know is that I don't remember ever being as high as that damn cat was that day and I'm jelous!!!

I seen my little stoner girl nearly like that for about 14 hours once when she had stolen some bud I set out and walked in the kitchen just long enough to get some ice and I get back the plate is licked clean.

she then spends the next 14 hours so stoned she could not stand up I tried plenty all she could do was just lay there on her stomach never her side the whole time and her eyes would start to close and her head nod up and down a bit but she totally refused to lay down or sleep all she could do was stay in that one position..........scared the crap out of me....of course after 14 hours she finally stood up and proceeded for the next 5 hours to have the blast of her life so far.

Needless to say after that I have NEVER forgotten to leave anything unattended for even a second around her.

I'm with Alaskan Biker, this is a great question, and I also have a dual answer.

We have two dogs. One doesn't want anything to do with the stuff, so we call her Nancy Reagan.

The other has been hooving right along with me since he was just a little thing. He's almost 8 now, and unless he's already sufficiently stoned, it's impossible for us to light one without him getting in between us for his "hits" (hold it under his face, he licks at the smoke trail).

He's in heaven when he gets a small roach to eat. An absolute stoner.

I actually think its being cruel to your animals by getting them stoned, they haven't asked for a hit yet people think its funny would you be the same if it was crack/smack or heroin? and what about your children would you let them have a hit as well with them not knowing what they were doing?

It's funny cos it's not you!

I don't wanna open up that whole subject again but it's along the same lines as this one in so far as it deals with individuals senses of what is funny and what isn't.

My take on it is.... I've never held my dog to get 'em stoned. If he wants a hit blown his way he stays, if not he's gone. Free Will? If he eats it when your not looking. Free Will? Dogs are a little smarter than given credit for, they, after a couple of times get the idea, smoke = High eating it = High. Ever seen the nature show where all the animals for miles congregate to a certain tree that drops it's fruit only after fermentation? Scores of Drunk monkeys, elephants, Ect. Free Will?

Not trying to start anything w/ anyone here, Just have different take on free will. PEACE
