My best trip souvenirs seem to be either free or inexpensive. A found license plate (MT52VX) with a Wijngaard Motors Amsterdam sticker validating it, a gratis laminated Hunters CS menu, an internet token coin from Abraxas, a buyer's card from 't Keteltje. Various Queensday giveaways.

Inexpensive souvenirs I use daily, are lighters and metal ashtrays (for crumbling bud).

I like the burly Dutch bandannas, called boerenzakdoeken, from places like De Mof, on Haarlemmerdijk or de Boerenbothal on the AC markt. Very Dutch.

Another favorite, are the mysterious yet welcome packages that find their way to my exact location.

What y' got?

I have all 3 lighters form the Sativa, Indica, and Sinsemilla in Haarlem. I also have one of the nice tins from Koffieshop Birdy's 20th Anniversary I picked up with FlyByNite several years ago. I always bring home as much Albert Heijn extra dark roast koffie pads as will fit in my bag, I love that stuff.

Most of the trinkets and souvenirs I buy in Holland become cheap gifts for friends and family back home. However, I've managed to keep some for myself, including an Abraxas lighter, a handful of fridge magnets and this beauty hanging on my bedroom wall:

Have wanted to buy Delftware on previous trips, but didn't. Next time!

The Magic Mushroom Gallery has a place attached to it called "Crazy Gifts." Near the wall they sell these little stuffed creatures, not really animals, but very psychedelic, creative and fun when you're high. I always pick up a couple new ones when I'm in town. Each is unique and they're not mass produced. Odd when you're sober but completely makes sense when you're high. I like getting weird stuff that doesn't necessarily have to do with the place but is memorable in its own right, thereby creating a memory. Same for a Russian nesting doll of the Beatles in that place in Dam Square. Of course, I like the coffeeshop t-shirts and lighters as well.
