hi growers

Do any of you growers out there use a wilma(or similar)drip grow system? I'm on my second grow using one and am looking for advice......amount of plants to grow..........frequency of feed. All advice appreciated

if you are growing in cocoa use the black drip feeders, if using clay pebbles use the blue drippers which are more constant.

The black ones are a slow drip and the blue a constant flow. I use to have my pumps on timers and increased watering intervals as the plants got bigger.

I personally liked the wilma pot system the most out of the several hydro or aero systems i used.

Ok so I'm using the correct feeders(blue for clay pebbles).......I'm growing in a 1.2mx1.2mx2.0m tent. I have a wilma 8 pot system(8x11L pots)with a 70L reservoir. I'm using Canna Flores, Canna Boost with PK 13/14 nutes. The nutes are kept at 19c and aerated. My ph is spot on as are the figures for ppm on feeds. Temperature and humidity levels are all ok(I'm using Jorge Cervantes' medicinal marijuana growbook as my guide for all these figures). I have a single 600watt hps lamp over 4 plants. This is my dilemma......I was disappointed with my yield from my first crop using this system with all 8 pots in use so as an experiment I've only used half this time to see if more room equals bigger plants.........or not, or would I be better gong the opposite way and buying another wilma 8 pot system(it will fit in next to the existing one)and growing 16 plants? I'm not growing commercially it's mainly for personal use and a couple of lighter smoking mates who can't grow at present but obviously I want the max yield I can achieve WITHOUT adversely effecting quality........

I've used the Wilma system a couple of times years ago but more recently have been growing in DWC. Your problem of maximizing yield probably isn't related to the Wilma system as such if you've got feeding schedule, temps etc all dialled in and I doubt it's related to the number of plants you're growing either really.

Is the plant canopy spread nicely? Do you do any sort of training? eg topping, fim, lst etc I've scrogged a couple of times and I think this great for maximizing yield, but takes quite a lot of work and can be tricky. LST imo offers a good trade off of ease vs results. This is one thing you've not mentioned and is important in making the most of your light.

You say you're disappointed with your yield, what was it? Maybe you're being a little tough on yourself.

edit - depending on the laws in your country regarding cultivation it may be better to grow fewer plants as the old bill may be more likely to charge you for intent to supply with more plants, regardless of the amount they actually yield.

when i first started there was a really good offer on for everything id need and the hydro system included in that deal was a wilma, i used it got good results etc but looking at a friends outcomes i wish id gone for bubble pots, wilmas are good but damn they are shittly made

yeah Wilma systems don't enable the spacing of individual buckets.
