Hi fellow stoners! Got back from the Dam on Monday and thought I would put on a review of the apartment I stayed in with my girlfriend. I booked through citymundo.com a few months before hand with no hassle. I paid a deposit and the rest was due upon arrival. We phoned the host from Centraal and she agreed to meet at the apartment in 20 mins (no probs again.) It was on the top floor (60 steps!) but I didn’t mind. I think it adds to the stoned comedy value! The apartment was fairly big for the 2 of us with a lounge area, dining/cooking area, bed area and toilet/shower room on the bottom level, with another small steep set of stairs leading to the attic room with a double bed, sofa and table area. Perfect for smoke sessions before bed/early mornings! Shower was nice and hot, hate when you get a naff shower! The only downside I would say is it could be done with a lick of paint here and there etc and a good clean/spruce up. It wasn’t overly dirty or anything, but it just felt more of a place for you and your mates to chill, rather than the girlfriend, if you know what I mean?
Now, where this apartment really sold for me was the location! Its at 154 Nieuwezijds Voorburgwal just behind the big church on Dam Square. There is a tram stop right on the doorstep (perfect for our trip to Leidseplein for De Klos ribs Mmmm!), a huge Albert Heijn and plenty restaurants etc. Also one of the best things for me was its only a few doors from coffeeshop Utopia, a little gem of a place that treats customers well, serves good weed and regularly cleans the bongs! Perfect for bong sessions soon as you wake Homegrown Fantasy is right across the road and Grey Area and Amnesia are just round the corner!
Overall a nice enough little cheap apartment to chill with in a really good location, but if your looking to treat the wife to a romantic stoners holiday, you might want to go for something a little nicer. Almost forgot, 524 euro for 4 nights. Thought it wasn’t too bad for the Centrum? Hope this helps anyone looking to stay here in the future!

I've used citymundo a lot of times in previous trips and I was never asked for a deposit. Maybe they ask you to provide a valid credit card number as a guarantee, but I honestly can't remember if that was the case

Hi, do u mean a returnable/damage deposit? No none of that which is another reason I booked. I also hate getting back 200euro on the last day as I usually get a quite early flight home! Good little chill pad I'm thinking of using again with 2 mates next year!

Edit: no credit card details needed either, just paid the amount outstanding and had to leave the keys on the table when we left

That apartment is not cheap. I guess if you go by per person. Thanks for the tip, though.

I think you would struggle to find much apartments right in the centre for cheaper! 130euro per night (for 2) isn't cheap? One of the cheapest I could find! If you know any smoking apartments in the centre for cheaper, please elaborate!!

Also heading over with 3 lads in February so going to have a look at this! Thanks for the info man!! Was this shared btw?? Like the entrance / hallways etc??

Yeah man there is other apartments in the building so the main door at the bottom and the stairs are shared. Nothing else is though! This one is at the very top so be prepared! It doesn't bother me tbh I think it's funny when baked! I think it would be great for 3 lads! Plenty on the doorstep and a main tram stop! Anyway enjoy your trip wherever you stay!

I've stayed in this apartment, last May for 3 nights with a mate. Pretty much agree with what the OP has to say about it. With a bit of TLC it would be a really cracking place; as it is however its still a good option for a small group of stoners, especially if you are more fussed about having a decent space in a great location rather than everything being completely spick and span. I wouldn't say it was dirty (though I didn't really want to look too closely at the rugs etc), but it was a little bit krunky for lack of a better word; couple of cracks in windows, random electrical sockets not working, rubbish kettle with no off switch etc.

+ Booking & checkin very easy, no security deposit, good price (€130 a night for 2 is decent for that much space, for 3 it would be pretty good)
+ Smoking definitely ok
+ Location amazing
+ Good amount of space
- Needs TLC

I'd go back, but I would also look for other options at a similar price before booking. The place I stayed on Kerkstraat on my last trip for example was much better (called "Craft II" @ Amsterdamstay), though suitable for 4+ people so it was a bit more expensive for 3 of us but was over four whole floors and generally at a higher standard.

Thanks so much for this! I love this spot and always try to stay on NV - it's a great location. And that's a fantastic price for the area and what looks like a nice apartment! Will definitely keep this place in mind for 420
